Bellagio vs Wynn Las Vegas : Vegas Battle Royale

Bellagio
Las Vegas Strip
Blow by blow:

Fontana Bar was the coolest place to watch the dancing fountains. Probably, because I didn't have a lake view room. Although up-top the faux Effiel Tower was a cool viewing spot for the fountains.

Still in my heart as THE Place to land and enjoy this town and location cannot be bested.

Got to be the best hotel in Vegas......They always treat us very well.........great rooms.........super dining.

I'm a Downtown kinda girl but I do enjoy mingling among the rich folk. This place oozes class. From the conservatory to drinks on Prime patio, everything is top notch.

I know it's getting old, but I can't dislike this place. When it first opened, I thought it was the best casino on the strip, and a part of me still does. I think no matter how much opens around it, I'll always dig this place. The restaurants, the customer service, the classic fountain show - all of it is top notch.

THE best resort in the world. Period. I transformed Steve's four star resort to the five diamond wonder of the world.

The Bellagio is hands down the best place I have stayed in Las Vegas. The buffett is second to none. The O show is unbelievable. It is one of the classiest joints on the strip.

The original class act in Vegas. The conservatory is always amazing, its a floral oasis in the desert. I love the fresh and real floral scent, much better than the piped in smell at the Venetian. The buffet used to be better, it lacks atmosphere. The cafe has tons of atmosphere and slower than slow service, but good food. Gasp at the prices of a glass of OJ! The rooms were much prettier before they decided to give them the brown/beige vibe. The casino could use some newer slots that people like to play.

Now and forever the best joint in the world hands down. Once the "newness" of Wynncore, Cosmo and City Center wears off, everyone will be head'n back to the Bellagio............You'll see!

Not much has changed at Bellagio since my first experience. I still love going to their bars putting in max credits and ordering a Crown Royale Reserve, with crushed ice. It is a Vegas masterpiece.

To me, Bellagio is Vegas. The fountains, the food, the art- it's an icon. And we are always lucky in the casino.

First place to ever stay in Vegas and have stayed here more times than any other Hotel in Vegas.

Ah, Bellagio... The one & only. The Belle of the Ball. The pride & joy of Steve Wynn, and of Las Vegas.
Ah, how times have changed these last 12 years. The rooms are drabby and showing their age. There are numerous cracks in the marble at Via Bellagio. The casino just isn't what it used to be.
But you know what? There's just something about Bellagio that won't let it die. The grandeur remains, no matter how faded it may seem at times. The high-rollers still pack the casino. The gourmands still fall over each other (and rightly so!) for the murderers' row of great restaurants here. And the well-heeled still enjoy the still mighty suites. This carpet joint has real staying power.
Now if only MGM Mirage would FINALLY get to renovating the place...

A great place for couples. Bellagio exudes old world charm. Lake Como, Italy theme. Spectacular dancing fountains. Stunning conservatory. Beautiful lobby capped with a stunning art glass ceiling. The amazing Cirque du Soleil show O is performed here in an indoor lake. Great restaurants including Picasso, Le Cirque, and Olives. Elegant pool. There aren't enough superlatives to describe all of the treasures and temptations of Bellagio.

Shame they botched Fontana for 10 years and then blew it out with some snake oil salesman.

Stayed in a lakeview room. The room was dated in style but still very clean and well maintained.Really liked the size and layout for a regular room. Housekeeping was great. Will definitely stay there again.

I love the Bellagio because it holds a special place in my heart (awwwwww). It is the location where my wife and I were married. It was by far the most special trip I've ever had. Walking through the casino with the photographers in our wedding garb was so much fun. People were clapping, taking photos, stopping and watching. It's the closest you can get to being a celebrity for a day.
We set out to take photos on the terrace of the Fontana in front of the fountains. As we walked out, everyone who was seated stood up and started clapping for us. Really cool feeling. The fountains started going off and the photos started flying.
We've always had amazing stays on this property. Regardless of people saying that "It's showing its age." or "It's not like how Steve used to run it." It's always been top notch.
I highly recommend Prime Steakhouse. Easily one of the best fillets I've ever had the please of eating in my life and the service was perfection. Call ahead, request a set on the patio or by the windows at night...drink wine and watch the fountains. Unreal.

The Bellagio is by far the sexiest place on the strip. Just walking though there i saw some to the most beautiful women ever. Oh yeah the craps tables are pretty fun also. I didn't win that night but it was the experience that made my day

Bellagio is one of the best hotels in Las Vegas/world. The Restaurants are great, 'O' is great, the nightclub is great, love the casino and the shops. Bellagio is a posh place...nuff said

Still the classiest place in town. Wynn peaked with Bellagio and Wynncore is just a sad old mans failed attempt to outdo his masterpiece - Bellagio! Wynn fanboys shit on the way MGM runs the place but it's been #1 for over 13 years & Wynn only ran it for 18months so the MGM folks must be doing something right.

When I built Bellagio in 1998 it was the state of the art in upscale luxury resorts. The gorgeous decor to the expansive and plush rooms put a brand new face on the Las Vegas experience and once again set the standard for a casino resort.

My favorite casino floor to merely walk through. Not too loud and incredibly comfortable. Probably the most attractive sports book. A friend of mine walked by the $1,000 minimum blackjack table and some guy waved him over to bet a $6,000 hand.

Classy, clean, enjoyable. Always fun to visit. Olives is great, "O" is beautiful, Palio has the best capuccino in Vegas, overall a great hotel. Gambling is good, you get a lot of pulls or throws for your bucks here. Rooms are comfortable, large, and quiet - and quiet can be something of an issue in Vegas hotel rooms. The fountains, of course, are a big draw - no matter how many times you've seen them you'll still watch them again.

The grandmaster of Vegas' "Disney period" proved that themed decor, when done well, can be taken seriously. Still the most welcoming environment on the Strip, it's greatness has been worn down by a combination of aging facilities, and managers who don't share the original vision. Have been ignored by hotel staff here before, but F&B and Merchandising workers have been respectful since I can remember.

The heart of the strip and the resort that put luxury on the map. Even though Steve Wynn no longer owns or runs it, there is enough pride in the employees working here that they still deliver consistently good service.

love it but the property is slowly losing it's personality and being replaced with the generic stuff. can't find the words to describe it. kinda like nana with alzheimers. you love her but you know something is missing...

Bellagio is very elegant. The casino is comfortable and fun to play at. The building and grounds are beautiful. I haven't stayed there but a walk around the hotel and around the pool area makes you feel as if you have traveled to a beautiful, tranquil villa in Italy. The murano glass chandelier in the entrance is a marvel to view and not to be missed. The fountains at night, set to music are quite moving and fun to watch.

best piano man (petrossian bar), generally a good vibe, and killer eats. i think i always stop by, though the clientele is getting douchier every year. coincidentally seems like this is the spot to find escorts. noodles is still worth getting in line for (now that i live nowhere near any decent asian food...)

Our stay was top notched from check in to check out. Although the lines were very long we did not mind, what's the rush your on vacation. The check in receptionist gave us a complimenary bottle of bubbly for our anniversay. Stayed in the Salone Suite, with turn down service and chocolates on the pillows. The casino bar made the best Lemon Drop martini that I have had in Vegas. Not every bartenders knows how to make one and just putting Lemon flavored Vodka is not all it takes. Won in the casino:-)

Even though it's being mismanaged, Bellagio is still one of the best casinos in the world. If Wynn still owned it, Bellagio would have remained at the top of everyone's lists.

The grande dame of Vegas casinos is starting to show her age, but she's still a class act.

The Master Piece of the Strip. Timeless architecture, cozy and warm environment, and the most beautiful casino on the strip. Just hope one day MGM realizes they have what can be the best resort/casino in Vegas. All it needs is an interior designer who understand the true conception behind Bellagio.

One of finest places I have seen. Every detail is so intricate, whether its the architecture, pool, the conservatory, and even the check in counter, it's just gorgeous! I imagine it to be a very romantic place to stay at.Won $200 clear here as well on the slots. I NEVER win at slots, so I was thrilled!

The first truly luxury property I stayed at in Las Vegas, Bellagio was once my vision of the epitome of Las Vegas. Then Wynn opened. Previous stays during the height of the Excess Boom were great, but my last visit in July left me with a sour taste in my mouth. Booked room type was unavailable. Told our room was renovated when almost any Vegas aficionado knows that those rooms haven't been updated in almost five years. Frat boys taking boxes of beers to their super cheap rooms. Electronic drapery controls in the room were, by some sort dark magic or electrician incompetence, reversed. In general, service, clientele, and maintenance issues were endemic. What was once the property so exclusive, so luxurious that I couldn't have hoped to enter until my eighteenth birthday is not aging as gracefully as it could and should be under the stewardship of a tinkering, interested owner. I cringe to think what will happen once all of MGM's design and guest attention is taken by ARIA.

Still a wonder to behold, even if she is beginning to show some signs of aging. Service can be a bit spotty at times, and I have never had much luck in the casino, but it is hard to beat Bellagio for it's combination of luxury, location, and amenities.

Without a doubt, this is the nicest hotel I've stayed at in Las Vegas. I love everything about it--the restaurants, the Fontana Lounge, the lakeview rooms, the conservatory, the fountain show, you name it.

She's a beaut, Clark. I've never stayed here, and I have no idea why. I love the fountains, the conservatory, the Chihuly flower sculpture...classy place. Great restaurants. Hmm, maybe it's because MGM never seems to throw me anything approaching a decent comp for this place. Bummer.

Bellagio has always been one of my favorite hotels. The fountains are amazing and soothing...... Unfortunately MGM doesn't seem to take as good care as Wynn did.

A Vegas Institution; always popular and crowded but for understandable reason. It feels a bit "social-climbey" ("see and be seen") but in spite of that the place has great food, drink, atmosphere and gaming. Had my best winning streak of the trip here! The baccarat bar is great, the pit crew were very polite and welcoming of this rambling drunken tourist, and Olives is very very tasty. Some may find this place pretentious, but no one can deny its quality.

Bellagio was once the best hotel in town.
Now anno 2010, Bellagio lost much of its
glory under the bad management of MGM
Resorts International.

To really experience Las Vegas, it's imperative that you visit the Bellagio--and stay there, if you can. In a lot of ways, it's a Las Vegas institution. Rooms are nice, though a bit long in the tooth and in need of some renovations.
It's a great place to walk around and people watch. Can't beat its location--center strip. The property, itself, is huge. Taking a cab (or limo) from the airport to the entrance of Bellagio is a really neat experience.

Bellagio is everything a great resort should be. Excellent food, nice new rooms and perfect service. Although, even though I don't gamble, I dislike the casino.

Big fan of the Sports Book and excellent cocktail service. Good to hear that the rooms are finally being slowly updated

Love that it's a nice joint with affordable gaming. Now that they are upgrading the low-tier rooms, I'll have to stay here again.

Always love the architecture. The buffet is the second best buffet in town on my list. The Wynn being The best.

Bellagio is a real classic - the blown-glass in the lobby will undoubtedly make this the nicest hotel lobby ever, the conservatory is a wonderful feature, and of course the lake is inimitable. The casino is only okay though, the nightclub is awful, food isn't as good as it should be (Cafe Bellagio has declined and most of the fine restaurants are overrated, especially Picasso) and then there's the hotel. These rooms simply have nothing to recommend them at their price point. Its a pity, this place deserves to be pulling down the full 6.

Still a classic casino.. Showing it's age much better than even the almost three year old Encore. There is just something about that place.
but about those guest rooms.....

It's very beautiful and the fountain and the chandelier are so whimsical, yet so beautiful.

High falutin' top of the Vegas world. This place has it all. Watch Bond-like action in the Baccarat room or play next to some of the kindest snobs you'll meet at the tables. Catch the fountain show and the conservatory display and remind yourself of what made Steve Wynn great to begin with. The rooms need a makeover though, nice and roomy but the only place without standard flat panel TVs. The lakeview rooms make up for it with a HiDef view of the Fountains.

Nice casino, always seem busy, nice lake and best restaurant in vegas "picasso"

Rooms are a little bit long in the tooth, but the casino is superb. Solid drink service.

They have freaking gondolas. Does your fave spot have gondolas. I thought so.

The rooms are nice not great and there is a lot of snobby people but the pool was great ...

Blow by blow:

Hi, my name is Steve Wynn... and this is my new resort. The only one I've EVER put my name on.

Its just beautiful.
The staff kick ass, and are not ashamed to show the 'aloha'.

can't get enough of it. not a bad thing to say. shell out the extra coin and stay in the tower suites rooms. dramatic difference in service and attention to details

Best hotel/casino currently in Vegas. Fantastic everything. Can't wait to go back!

Was Mr. Wynn crown jewel before he trumped it with Encore. Still, in my opinion, the second best property in Vegas. Not too shabby. Classy, elegant, plush. Think of Circus Circus and then think of the extreme opposite

I luv Bellagio and Four Seasons, but Wynn still rocks my world on every level. Dining by the 18th hole of the golf course, classic. High-end slots area, second-to-none. From initial doorman greeting to floor managers to hosts, they act like they actually care you're here. Go figure.

I loved every single thing about it. I have stayed there 3 times and once in a Tower Suite. I have also stayed at Bellagio, and prefer Wynn by far.

THIS IS SOME PLACE WHERE I HOPE SOME DAY TO STAY AND PLAY IN. JUST WALKING THRU THIS PLACE IS TRULY A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE, MR. WYNN HAS LEFT NOTHING UNTOUCHED THE PLACE IS BEYOND BREATHTAKING AND THE CASINO IS SO RELAXING TO PLAY IN. SOMEDAY I HOPE TO BE ABLE TO SPEND SOME GOOD QUALITY TIME THERE...

Beautiful rooms, beautiful casino, great restaurants. What more do you need?

Just stayed at the Wynn. How was it? Awesome. Pool. Awesome. Food. Awesome. Clubs, bars and entertainment. Awesome.

Wow. Got there for a free night's stay on April 30 a little early - gal at check in said that there wasn't a basic non smoking room available. So I offered to gladly take a smoking room (I can't imagine the smoking rooms at the Wynn being that bad) so she bumped me to a panoramic Strip view corner room on floor number 20 for free... SWEET! Only there for a night, but wow. Everyone talks about the bed... I was a little (majorly) drunk when I got into it but it was the most comfortable bed I've ever been in! The room was incredibly spacious. The TV actually said "Welcome Robert" or something to that effect when I walked in - majorly cool. Not sure I liked the orange halls, but I digress.... The staff was AWESOME - even came for turn down service, everyone was so friendly. Definitely a first class experience. Too bad I work at a bank and can't afford a room again.... lol

A hotel masterpiece, amazingly and carefully designed to make you feel casually elegant, right? Amazing rooms and a great casino. Check out the Lake of Dreams for a free acid trip, dine at SW and relish in the goodness that is Truffled Cream Corn, or stroll around and witness those with money and those digging for it.

Had the most delicious dinner here, sitting at the bar at Bartolotta...yeah...it was reeeeeeaaaalllyyy gooooddd.....bbaaaabbbbyyy cllllaaammmmssss.....mmmmmmm

Customer service is awesome, the restaurants are great, XS is probably the best club on the strip still, and every girl who works here is drop dead gorgeous. Works for me.

The rooms are nice ... but it know what its all about you MUST stay in a suite. I’m not trying to be a snob here, but from the private check in surrounded by bits of Steve Wynn’s art collection to the private suite hold pools – it’s the only way to roll. Eat at Alex and be amazed by the food without being overwhelmed, people watch at Parasol Down or play Pro or No in the B Bar after 11 pm. It doesn’t get much better then this.

The best. From The Resort Suite to The Salone Suite, incredible! Let's see what happens at Encore.

ok. no question this is where i spend the most time. awesome drinks, gambling, crowd, clubs, food. and awesome drinks. repeated, because they are that awesome.

Vegas perfection. We spend a lot of time here. The best buffet, comfortable casino (though I would like to forget my recent run at the tables), and outstanding design. Love the Tower Suites!

The shopping. The dining. The suites. The shows. The clubs. Is there anything about Wynn Las Vegas NOT worth swooning over?

This place sets the standards by which all other places aspire. Excellent service from every staff member I come into contact with. Only complaint I can find with this place is the prices at dinning establishments, but I guess that is the cost of excellence. Luckly the Venetian has some good dinning options nearby, along with forum shops. Drink service and gambling has been good every time. I even managed to Wynn a few bucks during last visit. I will return as long as they keep the room rates in my neighborhood.

Every casino on the Strip should be designed like this..nice wide concourses, comfortable chairs to battle video poker machines, the best drink service in Las Vegas right now..
Stayed here twice..service is excellent..check in folks address you by name and appreciate your business...best lunch buffet in the city..the Jerk Free Range Chicken is worth the flight to Las Vegas alone..
Great TVs in room..excellent beds..I sleep on a Wynn Plillow every night..always make a trip there to play..

Wynn is great for couples. Encore is a fun place to party. Standard guest rooms at Wynn are the best in Vegas. Beds are very comfortable. The ritzy casino and conservatory are comparable to Bellagio's. The swimming pool is even nicer than the beautiful pool at Bellagio. Great shopping, restaurants, and nightlife. Wynn equals or surpasses Bellagio in every respect except one- the Bellagio fountains.

Great gaming, great restaurants and just beautiful everywhere you look. loved Tryst and Blush the last time i was out there.

Holy shit. No offense guys, but you probably should have made Wynn the douchebag nightclub capitol, and put the staid oldsters in Encore. Its schizophrenia aside, Wynncore is to me, as gorgeous and classy as anywhere in town, and XS and Surrender are probably the 2 most opulent nightclubs on the continent. Try and go right before they close or rebrand them in 10 years or so.

I stayed in a recently renovated Parlor Suite at the Wynn Tower Suites, and it was absolutely amazing. The staff was incredibly helpful, and the room was SO nice and comfortable, it wasn't necessary to leave the room. My wife loved the enormous bathroom, and we took full advantage of the small wet bar in the room. Highly recommended!!!!

Despite some flaws, Wynn remains my favorite hotel in Vegas. Amazing rooms, great service and still a few kick-ass restaurants, anytime I plan a staycation, this is first on my list.

Ultimate Hotel! Everything in the wynn is beautiful..the casino..the restaurants...the show...the bars...the clubs...the pools...the golfcourse...I love this place very much and mostly I stay in this hotel or in the Encore resort. The staff at Wynncore is very friendly and they always try to give you a good feeling. If you wanna spend a little more on accommodations...book the Salon Suite!

I so want to own a suite here. I mean. If I had millions, I'd buy one on the 60th floor and freaking move in. Freakin-A. I'd order those dreamy pancakes and have the syrup heated just right every single morning. Outfit those curtains with a remote so I can open it whenever I want. Yeah. Hell yeah.

A step sideways from Bellagio. The casino is great for a modern, heavily-appointed property but the restaurants vary and the resort end is beaten by it's chief competitor. I've learned to respect the interior, even if I don't fully love it.

Tryst is visually stunning. Am looking forward to eating at The Country Club. Shops seem a bit too high end for me (not that there's anything wrong with that)

I have only been to the casino, but what a casino! I did not get the opportunity to play enough there but what an ambiance. The lobby, the casino floor were warm and inviting. I love red and the casino was a great display of red design. The slots were fun - I really can't wait to go back and find the Wynn Blazing 7s. I loved the interaction with the slot club card screen on each slot machine. Only wish they had web access to player comp points, promotions, etc. Hope to stay there one day.

Gorgeous design and great restaurants mark the Wynn in my memory, but the table limits are too rich for my blood.

I will be staying there for the first time in about a week. My boss claims this is his hands-down fave Vegas property. He's the one who encouraged me to sign up for the Red Card and gamble just a bit there. The Nugget, then Caesars were his faves before. Although there is no way I am willing to pay to play their table games, they have a great array of slots for the low-baller. I didn't walk out a big winner, but that's no difference from anywhere I go. I DID get a good amount of play for the money spent. The drinks are well served (one waitress tracked us down to the other side of the room to deliver out booze when we wandered off) and strong enough. I probably still wouldn't be staying here except they sent me a $120/night deal with $150 in free slot play as a player's club member (thanks boss!). We'll see if I'll feel compelled to do it again sometime after I see what the holiday experience brings....maybe another spot on the dice.

Not what used to be when it opened. But still a good choice and the best overall speaking.

The rooms are amazing, I could say that. Their restaurants are exquisite as well as the design but, there's just something thats missing- something big. Maybe its the location, or that "feel" IDK . I'll find out soon.

Probably best hotel on the strip. The only drawback is that the table limits are quite high and dealers seem to have an attitude if you are not shelling out the dough. Even if you are a steady $25 / hand BJ player, they seen to not really give a shit. I may be kind of dated here, because the last time I played BJ (for above reasons) was 2008. Good Video poker, good drink service in the slot areas. Nice sports book. Great pool area.

Wynn and Encore always creates mixed feelings in me. I love the look of the Casino. When I feel spendy, I enjoy playing there. As a people watching spot, both Wynn and Encore know no equal as the pretty people walk by to and from XS.
And yet....
Having stayed at the Wynn Tower Suites, in a Salon Suite no less, I couldn't help feeling that the service and the attention to detail was a little less than what I could have had at Four Seasons or Mandarin Oriental. This is not to say that the staff wasn't kind but there was a certain edge missing. I had to call a few times to get room service dishes cleared. I got only marginal advice from the concierge staff. The room was nice, but at Four Seasons and especially at Mandarin Oriental, the staff just went that extra little mile to make you feel comfortable.
Wynn Las Vegas, oh I want to love you so. I want to stay with you forever. But the fact that I don't gamble thousands of dollars makes me feel less at your properties. I love your rooms. I love your casinos. I love your bars. But when I interact with your staff, I don't get the same treatment I can at FS and MO, and that always creates a bit of difficulty. I'll come stay with you when I have the coin, but when push comes to shove, I can always take a cab to you, but who I sleep with is forever.

Lots of Rolex's, lots of tassels on the drapes. Despite the upper crust vibe, the place is friendly and fun. Comfortable rooms, comfortable beds. Great spa! The minus is the cafe, service gets slower every visit, but the food is good. Gasp at the prices of the beverages in the cafe, they rival the cost of the food. Sip water and drink in the casino for free.

Even at five years old, you still look so cute. And have the best mix of playable slots in Vegas. And a great gift shop. And amaaaazing dining. Heart you.

The staff here treated this little fish like a big fish. Wonderful service. I don't really fit in with the clientele but I don't care so that rolls up into the "not my problem" category.

I'm not sure if it's all part of your master plan, Sir Stephen, but I guess I'm moving my fat ass back across the Es-pla-nade to this dump. Cause the kiddies have taken over Encore.

Even though it's connected to Encore and can be viewed as one resort, I personally like Wynn Resort better. Yes, Encore's suites are newer, but there's something about Wynn I really like. The spa facility is designed much better. I like the Wynn restaurants better, but I'll miss Alex Restaurant very much.

Great place. NOT A FAN OF TIP SHARING. The dealers earned that $$$ let them KEEP it!

Stayed at the Wynn a few days, love their rooms (comfy beds), nice pool area. Casino is fun.

It is very nice. I've seen Avenue Q and Spamalot and enjoyed that theatre and the shop both times. The shopping, while high-end, is nothing to toot your horn about. The casino is beautiful and yet I feel so cramped with the lowered roof. The observatory and te lake is noce. The best restaurant in the hotel is Bartolotta di Mare. i would stay there if I had a good view, but doesn't see dropping out alot of dough for the rooms.

Wynn is just quintessential Vegas elegance. It's still the top resort in my eyes as far as luxury goes. The casino is incredible, the disgn is spectacular, and I always enjoy my time at Wynn.

A formerly great hotel & casino, until Wynn management started catering to the clubbers and slaughtering the restaurant lineup, which was once the best in town, but is now lackluster, repetitive and overrated...most of the staff is still the best in Vegas, though, although their hosting staff could take some customer service lessons from the rest of the employees...sadly, it seems the Steve's heart must be elsewhere nowadays (with Andrea? In Macau?), because it's certainly not in keeping Wynn/Encore up the standards by which it was run the first couple of years it was open...a sad decline, really, of a place that was once indisputably the best resort in Las Vegas, and now just coasts on its laurels but doesn't really deserve them anymore...

Best music, best waitresses (I suspect they're genetically engineered), best cocktail service, best slots (in my experience), best burger I've ever had (Terrace Point Cafe), and all sorts of other small details that make this place pure magic.
