March Madness

I go every March to Vegas for the first weekend of the NCAA tourney. I gamble and typically get free rooms, this year though my offers are horrible. $600 for four nights at the Flamingo. My gambling last year was no different than years in the past. I called my host and said there was a few big conferences that weekend, I'm wondering if it is true or just a line to make me feel better. Any one else going in March and how are your offers?

Are you talking about an 'offer' or are you talking about using the calendar? If you have maintained the level of play that earned you an assigned host, it shouldn't be a problem. The first weekend IS busy, but it's showing up comp'd across the board for me. With that said, a Deluxe room at Flamingo is $790 (Wed-Sun nights) without being logged in, so you're only saving ~$200 for the 4 nights.
While ADT plays a much bigger role in these things, are you saying that you earned the same amount of Tier Credits this last year as you did the last time you went? What's that number?

Looking at the convention calendar for the week the NCAA tourney starts, there's a convention from 3/13-3/14 that has 31,000 attendees (but that's midweek)and one from 3/13-3/15 that has 10,000 attendees (that may see some overlap with the weekend).

We are going the opening wknd of March Madness, have been doing it for years. This year for some reason, the room choices and prices are much higher than usual. Had to pull a few strings to get a good deal, and had to reserve it months ago. Looking today, still two months out, and it's expensive. Attendence was much higher this year at New Years in Vegas than last year. Evidently, opening wknd of March Madness is going to be the same.

Wow, so it was an offer and I guess I waited too long. One night comped and the rest are pretty high. I thought I kept the same rate of play last year and as I have in years before. But looking back on it, I did venture to more Mlife casinos. Guess I have to bite the bullet and spend the cash on rooms. Maybe I can get comped after everything.

March madness falls right in the, middle of spring break and saint Patrick's day is the first sat of the tournament this year. I go every year and had the issues as you this year with room prices. Actually ended up booking a room at Tuscany just off the strip.

We're going to be in town March 15-18. I received a couple different offers from Cosmo (ended up taking 3 nights with a dining credit and small free bet), and my host at MGM Grand was able to get me 3 nights comped. I'm keeping both rooms because we have a few guys going and don't want to get too crowded.
I'm not sure where my play ranks me in terms of deserving these comps, but I've been getting good offers from Cosmo for the past couple months, and from Palazzo since they loosened up their marketing again.
