Encore redesign

I never thought of this before.
Encore (presumably the casino) was designed for a west-to-east flow (i.e. people enter from the Strip port cochere (now Surrender/Beach Club) and go towards Bortero/XS.
On the conference call Wynn has the belief that nothing is going to built on the frontier site anytime soon. As a result he wants to realign the traffic at Encore.
I guess the casino will be redesigned for a North Port cochere to Wazzuzu trafic flow.
Any thoughts?

They are resigned to the fact that basically all Encore traffic will come from Wynn.
Encore's original design included a Wynn Macau-style 'Tree of Life' in the theater area. Wouldn't be surprised to see something like that come back to draw Wynn guests to Encore.
For something more dramatic, remove the Le Reve box office and those restrooms and open the entire corner up, WTS style, so you can see through to the Esplanade.

i was thinking they would remove Stratta?

Hmmm. Not sure about that one. How would that help?

Wouldn't, Stratta has no line of sight issue or kills no traffic flow, it actually keeps that area busy late nights after the clubs let out. The only reason I think they could kill Stratta would be for expanding the sports book.
Encore has a very linear flow, just now how designed. There is flow from Surrender to Eastside, and from the lobby to the Esplanade, both of which they've taken advantage of through table game relocation. The truth of the matter is that Encore is such a different beast than envisioned, the only real thing to do until outside forces change is to continue to allow it to evolve on its own inside, which is something that is being addressed through constant upgrades and changes to the floor and outlets (think Eastside and the coming changes to SWITCH.)

I always thought Switch was the worse restaurant at wynn/encore
RateVegas replied on Friday, 3rd February 2012
The word was that Switch will be replaced with a 'latin concept', though that may have fallen through. Either way, Switch won't last the year most likely.

I think they should expand Surrender into the Switch location and move its entrance to the SW corner. That would eliminate the Surrender lines in the casino. They should also rethink the registration area and the path guests have to walk to get to the elevators.

I wish they did not remove the property map from their new and improved website. I think I have an idea of how the above suggestions would work, but have not been to Vegas for almost a year now. Planning on stopping by this property to see how changes are progressing during my trip next month.

vegascasinoinfo.com has page full of property maps. They are pretty good about keeping them updated.

VT also has property maps, and so does VegasMate!
