Having been to Vegas several times, we hav yet to find the ultimate oyster experience. Any suggestions folks on where to find the freshest, best perpared oysters in town. A good woine selection is a bonus for us. Appreciate any input and heading down the end of September for another Vegas fix.

Oysters are all about sourcing and freshness. I'm sure there are a dozen great places to have them in town, but my money is on Bouchon. They always source the best ingredients whether you are in Vegas, New York or Yountville, Thomas Keller's restaurants consistently have the best stuff.

There is a definite tradeoff with price and selection. If you are looking for the best quality with a decent selection, I like Aquaknox at Venetian, CommeCa at Cosmo, and Morel's at Palazzo. Bouchon has a great selection but is pricey. Definitely avoid Todd English PUB and Oyster bar at Harrah's. Most of the high end restaurants have great oysters at premium pricing. I have heard from locals that the Oyster bar at Palace Station is actually the best bargain in town but can't vouch for it.

I'm not an oyster guy, but Triple George Grill downtown offers different varieties of West Coast and East Coast/Gulf Coast oysters everyday.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think I have ever had bad oysters in Vegas.
The two places that stand out in my mind are the Oyster Bar inside Harrah's and Big Al's at The Orleans. Both places I throughly enjoyed and would go back.

I am a big fan of Big Al's at The Orleans. I've had several dishes there and always enjoyed the food and service there. The oyster shooters are great too!

Best oysters I've had in Vegas, or really anywhere, were at Craftsteak. The super high quality horseradish stands out. They generally have half a dozen varieties available.

wow...thanks for the input.....gives us some new places to try...we are not looking for 'bargain' prices because as we have learned you don't always get the best or best selection. Heading down next week and will let you know how we made out. Cheers

I don't like oysters myself - but I've heard that PJ Clark's at caesars forum shops has an excellent raw bar.

I am an oyster guy, and the best oysters i've had in Vegas (and really anywhere for that matter) was RM Seafood at Mandalay Bay. The chef there is serious about oysters and gets them flown in twice a day. My wife is a foodwriter and was there doing a story on Rick Moonen's commitment to sustainable seafood so we got the whole story.
