Off Strip

Any thoughts whether it worth taking a taxi over to visit Gold Coast/Rio/Palms?

Take the free shuttle from Bally's to Rio. Rio has the best cocktail dresses on their girls and it is a fun casino.

also a shuttle that picks up at Bills and runs to the Gold Coast, the 202 also runs from next to caesars to the front of Rio, Gold Coast, and the palms ($5) for a 24 hour pass (which also works on the Deuce and DTX for the 24 hours). They all have some fun things to offer and are nice to check out, limits will be a little lower than the strip..if you play green chip bacc at the Gold Coast they'll let you bend, rip, and throw the cards which can be fun!!!

the Palms and the Orleans are the two gambling spots i'd suggest off the strip. i've had good luck and a lot of fun both places. limits are low and spirits are high.
i've never been to the gold coast, but they have a bowling alley, so they've got that going for them. Orleans does as well, though. and if i'm not mistaken so does rio, just opposite the carnival world buffet.
rio is a dingy casino with bad vibes in my opinion. not a terrible hotel, mind you. but not a casino i enjoy.

The Rio closed the small bowling alley they had a few years ago.

The Rio has some of the worst video poker tables on the planet..casino isn't bad, just nothing to reccomend it...
The Palms has excellent video poker, a movie theatre and a decent buffett..always worth a look..
