Is gambling at the Cosmo even worth it?

First post! :D
Gonna be staying the Cosmo in one month for my bday. Honestly, not expecting much, have read the hit-or-miss reviews and im only staying there for the balconies.
Mostly play blackjack and have heard gaming at the Cosmo is pretty weak. Is it not even worth it to gamble there if playing $50-200 BJ? Does anyone ever get comps/room offers if they do, or should i stick to Aria/MGM?
Thanks

Here's my 2 cents. nothing that has to do with comps. Last year we went in there, the casino was kinda dead. The clubs were crazy instead.

I agree, Clubs were off the Hook. The Casino was pretty Dead this might have something to do with the younger crowd being more into the clubbing scene and Not to much into gambling.

Personally, if I am going to be playing blackjack, I'll go to any property besides Cosmo.
Why?
Cosmo's blackjack pays 6:5, while Bellagio and Aria pay 3:2. If you have a $10 be on the table, are dealt a blackjack, Aria would give you $15. Cosmo would give you $12.
Here is a link to the 'house advantage' from property to property:

Oh, that whole comps thing, dont worry about that unless you're playing $500 to $1000/hand for hours on end.

The Casino at Cosmo feels like a hallway. I'd enjoy the balcony, the food, the eye candy at Cosmo and take your play somewhere where it will be rewarded such as Downtown, the Palms or even the Riv for an old Vegas vibe.

If your decision is based on table rules, then I would avoid Cosmo. Personally, I like a nice calm playing environment with excellent service. At $100/hand you can play in either the hi limit or Talon club. Both have excellent atmosphere and bars. I have found it is very easy to get offers and room comps at Cosmo with entire spend counting towards points.

6:5 BJ? on all games? that CANNOT be true.
on single deck, maybe, but on $50+, they cannot be serious. thats an insult. what dope would ever play that at those stakes with that payout?!?!

They pay 6:5 on all single and double deck games. Shoe games are still 3:2, however they're all 8d H17 unless you're betting black chips.

I can't comment on the gambling other than to say I've heard the comps are very weak.
My buddy lives in Oakland. He first visited the Cosmo around it's opening. He very rarley gambles at the Cosmo and if he does he doesn't use use his Identity card because he's always hammered and on the way up to his room to pass out after a day of gaming elsewhere. He really doesn't spend any money at the place other than on coffee and snacks.
Somehow he regularly recieves invites from the Cosmo for free two night stays. I know he's not bullshitting me because I see the invites and I listen to the interaction between him and the check in agent.
So who knows what gets you comps at the Cosmo?

+1. I for the first two years Cosmo was open I would receive, almost monthly, two-day stays from their marketing wing. I'm not a large player, and stayed there twice for free. However, since that second trip, it's been radio silence from Cosmo (if you except zappos.com gift cards). I always thought they were being aggressive at the start to build a new clientele from scratch, but I can't explain the sudden cutoff (except maybe we didn't meet their playing minimums, but we ate and drank on property). When I called the marketing group, I was told that they target certain demographics in certain parts of the country during certain months. Between my wife and I we've we will have been to Vegas three times since our last Cosmo stay. We've stopped in each time for dinner or drinks, but nothing from the marketing wing. Interesting stuff - I would love to see their modeling...

Im at cosmo right now, its the last day of my trip. Thursday and Friday during the day they had plenty of $10 tables, some 6:5, some 3:2. some shoe games, some CSM. Weeknights and weekend daytime it was $15 and up, primetime weekend (friday and saturday >7pm) only $25+ tables.
Very nice place, had no issues with service/housekeeping at all...if anything, i was impressed with the level of service here. hope to be back soon.
