Bachelor Party dinner recommendations

Started by Okie21 on Monday, 29th October 2012 9:24 pm

Looking to try a new place for my bachelor party dinner, and thought who better to ask than the VT board?

Some guidelines:

Less than $50/person out the door not counting drinks. Everyone is young and just starting jobs.

No oontzing. We enjoy talking over dinner. But at the same time, some will be drinking heavily and we don't want to upset other patrons on a romantic dinner.

Group of 6 guys.

Would prefer the strip area but willing to go downtown.

Some of my initial thoughts: Oscar's, Charthouse @ GN, Samba @ Mirage, Benihana @ LVH, Mon Ami Gabi (how's the steaks?), Scarpetta (how's the environment?)

What do you guys think?

Oscar's is going to run you more than what you want to spend. http://www.plazahotelcasino.com/pdf/menus/Oscars_Menu.pdf

There just are not steakhouses in town where you are going to get out the door for less than $50/head. Unless you really just get steak and share a few sides, while skipping appetizers. Beef entrees at a steakhouse on teh Strip is $40 minimum.

Even the steakhouse inside Treasures (yes, the strip club, and the food is comparable to other places in town) is not a bargain. Though eating there
will get you free entry to the club.

Mon Ami Gabi is not a bad choice. Great atmosphere, rambunctious, and good food. You will hit your price but not go over. Steak is more like steak frites or steak au poivre. Smaller cut, not same quality as steakhouse, but lower price tag.

Samba or another Brazilian place may be a good choice also.

But if you were willing to think of Oscar's, you may want to consider Triple George Grill downtown on 3rd. It will feel fancy - white jacket waiters and so on - but without the Strip prices.

Triple George Grill for sure if you are going to Fremont. On the strip it's a bit tougher, Mon Ami Gabi is pretty good, Also check out Brand at Monte Carlo, Olives at Bellagio (not a steakhouse but good food), Mesa Grill at Caesars or The Range at Harrah's (before it closes). Lots of places have their menu on line or will email it to you

I think those are solid suggestions, but budget busters for Okie21. Mesa entrees are all in the $40 range.

Thank you both for the responses. Triple George is the front runner for downtown. Looking at the Olives and Brand menus, both look like great matches for what I'm seeking. Great suggestions!

Let me know how it goes. I mentioned before, I am thinking Samba for mine in February, but if you do something different, and it turns out awesome, I'd like to hear about it.

We had a Bachelor Party dinner for my buddy in Atlantic City a few years ago, and we took him to Red Square. In AC its at the Tropicana, but in Vegas its at Mandalay Bay. It worked out perfect for us. The meals came in at about $50 per person, great atmosphere for that kind of party, and a great bar.

This place looks great! Thanks for recommending that. I think I'll go there eventually, whether we do it or not for this meal.

A good option could be Gordon Biersch, just of the strip on Paradise it offers everything you require + a happy hour for cheap beers (any place with this will be unlikely to be filled with the easily offended) and good food that won't destroy your bankroll for rest of the evening.

Have a good one.
