1st solo trip overview..

I "survived" my first solo trip to Sin City and it was fantastic, ready to book the next one..
A few "highlights", if you will..
I had my first ever "tunnel" experience by a DB
cab driver. I called him out on it, probably should have reported him, but... total was $21.90..gave him $22.00...oh well!!!
Got "check played" at ElCortez for a $25.00 bj hand really people??,lol.
You now need a coupon for the $7.99 steak dinner at Ellis Island, started about a month ago, but you can get that by signing up for their players card.
Saw Absinthe I thought it was excellent, but would not recommend for the easily offended.
Divas at the Quad was great fun too!( plus the ticket was free..)
Valley of Fire is gorgeous and has a soothing effect.
Bacchanal at Caesars was excellent.
A 5 night comped stay in Octavius tower can't be beat and leaving Vegas with a few bucks more than you went with is priceless! As well as walking from Ellis Island to Ballys with a toilet seat cover sticking out of the back of your pants, lol..oops!
Now to decide when to go next....

Oh I wish... It's so cold here in NJ..ugh... Thinking maybe March, I will be visiting family in CA, so may need to take a side trip ;)

Did you make it downtown at all?
Happygirl21 replied on Thursday, 24th January 2013
Yes,I went down to Fremont Saturday night. Mostly hung at Golden Nugget.

Did you go into the D?
Happygirl21 replied on Friday, 25th January 2013
Actually no... and not for any reason, just didn't think about it, lol. I also never made it to Triple George Grill, next time ( gives me a reason to go back, lol)
I also want to schlep over to the pinball hall of fame one of these visits..

Solo trips can become addictive, nice to hear yours went well. Not having to worry about anyone else on a trip and doing whatever you want, whenever you want in a town that runs 24 hrs, is a great time.

It really was fantastic and liberating! You are 100% correct, doing what I wanted, when I wanted was great! I even decided to take a nap at 4:30 in the afternoon one day!( I'm a real party girl, huh???lol) Honestly there were only 2 times I felt a smidge of uncomfortableness - when I was walking LV Blvd late at night alone and the other was when I was waiting in line to go into Absinthe, but I got over it in a hurry.
I can say I will certainly look forward to more solo trips there, then trips with others... Thanks for all your input prior to my trip!

Never done a solo Vegas trip. Lovely bride and I are so much in sync when it comes to what to do when we get there that even on business I bring her along...and for whatever reason gambling is zero fun if she isn't with me.
But 48 hours solo would be nice to try at least once. I'd predict sunburn, alcohol poisoning and worn out feet from walking around if I was left to my own devices in that town.
...and the angry envy from going there without her...that would cost me one way or another.

Glad you had a good time - and especially that you saw and enjoyed Absinthe. Buffets seem well suited to solo dining. Did you eat anywhere else that you would recommend? I'll be there on my own in February.

kayday,
I can't help but wonder if I am one of the few people that lose weight when in Vegas. I can tell you what I ate on one hand the entire 5 days, lol. Honestly Bacchanal was the only "big" eating I did. Seriously I had a salad one day, a sandwich another, Chipotle & Ellis Island steak special...
Also thanks for promoting Valley of Fire in an earlier post, it was beautiful!

Since friends tend to back out of trip I have been going solo for the past few years. You do what you want to do when you want to and no one is there to talk you out of it. Dining solo isn't an issue nor is going to a show if I feel like it. The nap thing in the middle of the day makes sense because i have headed back to the room and felt like relaxing instead of heading back out.
