Recommended Spring Mountain Road (Chinatown) Spots

Started by StevieG on Saturday, 23rd February 2013 6:14 am

Want to keep some options open for late night eats during next week's trip. Not super late, more like around 11:00 to midnight.

I have eaten at Raku and loved it, but I believe that on a weekend it is crowded, even late.

There are plenty of other places on Spring Mountain, though, and this group I'll be traveling with is open to Pho, Thai, Korean BBQ, Chinese, also.

Do you have recommended late night places on Spring Mountain Road?

Past research has led me to circle Joyful House (Chinese) and Dae Jang Keum (Korean) but I am open to read your thoughts.

Trattoria Nakamura-Ya (postwar Japanese-Italian, chalk board is killer)
Three Village Restaurant (unreal Shanghai style soup dumplings)
Greenland Supermarket (food stalls with individual specialities)
Baidu China Bistro (happy scallion pancake funtime)
Komex (Korean/Mexican fusion, and it works)
Anime Ramen & Teriyaki (cosplay heaven, tapas, good shoyu ramen)
I-Naba (soba and *clean* Japanese bites)
Yonaka (tied for best sushi off-Strip, VERY modern)
Kabuto (tied for best sushi off-Strip, hard res to get)
Monta (great ramen, right next door to Raku)
Cafe de Japon (nightly specials, postwar Japanese-French cafe)
China Mama (great mainland Chinese, bring your stomach)
Dakao (probably the best Vietnamese in town, great lamb)

A boatload of ramen places have started popping up in and around Spring Mountain as well as downtown lately, so it's worth asking around if you want to find some place without a crowd. One good thing about the Asian community in Vegas is that they haven't so much taken advantage of the possibility of volume. Yet.

If you're into Korean barbecue or AYCE, I could recommend some stand-outs, but I know that style isn't necessarily for everyone. Hope my suggestions help!

That is a wonderful list. Thanks, John. I wish we had the chance to try Komex, but after the fight on Saturday, the crew wanted to get right back to home base, which was downtown.

We ate at Le Thai, which once again delivered solid Thai offerings for a completely reasonable price.
