Well peeps it's finally here. Was it worth it to say at the Rio for 3 comped nights or should I have dropped a G on the Wynn? Ha.
-Well check in was wack at the platinum entrance as the moron didn't recognize my "friends and family" coupon for 2 free nights because the name on the coupon didn't match mine. Stuuuuupid!
Upon check in we had a 17th floor strip view room with "renovations" which I didn't notice, but I was told from my other 2 friends our room was better than theirs.
The room was large and comfortable. I liked the separate vanity area and couch for watching football with the boys for the 9am college football kickoffs. Overall I give the room a 7.5 of 10. Would have been a 7.75 if there wasn't a spooge stain on the wall next to my bed! HA, oh well, it's LV.
Fri night-went to Foundation Room with the Fellaz and had a great time, no cover, amazing view! Late night, hit the Whopper Bar bar at Rio, classic!.
Saturday day/night-The Rio casino is a dungeon. So dark, very smokey. I found myself straying off to the Gold Coast just to grab some light as I watched football. The pool at Rio is nice if it wasn't so cloudy all weekend. Hot waitresses and go go dancers. LOVELY.
Sat Night-Ellis Island Steak dinner and major gambling at PH. Great night, won playing BJ and slots.
Sun- run it back, pool, football then went to Diablos Cantina for dinner (not very good) then hit the strip to gamble. Won at Hooters and I thought the casino was way better than I thought it would be!
-First trip report Trippers, hope I did OK.
-Overall summary. Rio was OK, wouldn't stay there again unless it was my only comped option. (Just like it was) Too smokey and dark!
-Great trip with the boys, they liked Rio for the price as well.
-Take care everyone!

You really should have added class and dignity to your trip by staying at the Wynn haha.
Glad Rio wasn't a dump, free is a good thing!

don't forget the awe-inspiring beauty of the decor at the Wynn and how all the angles coalesce into a wonderful pool of majestic imagination and *snore...*

Steve Wynn actually designed the Rio, it was his first attempt at a carnivale theme. He just leaves it off his resume. ;)

So, will you stay at Hooters next trip? (Glad it was fun.)

The sad thing about the Rio now is that it's just a shell of what it once was when the Marnell family owned it. It used to be a GREAT boutique property to stay and play at which I did many times during the 90's. Thanks for the TR!

You did well! Exactly what I thought you would get, a clean bed and a place to shower. lol But the price is right with $0 costs. Sounds like the place has taken a turn for the worse, I haven't been their in a few years. Hopefully the owners put a little $ back into the joint and make it something like it was before.
