Looking to do a solo Saturday-Monday trip in late September / early October. Focus is to relax by pool while throwing out some NFL parlays. Looking for Strip hotel advice for a property with -

Medium price point

Good location (no Mandalay)

Decent sports book

Good pool

Mirage? TI? Someplace I haven't considered?

Mirage would work. So would a cheaper room at Caesars or even Monte Carlo (with train to Bellagio).

LVH? Haven't stayed there since it was the Hilton, but I seem to remember a decent pool deck (sans douchebaggery) and a great sportsbook. Cheap too, but aways from the strip.

LVH is a good idea. The feature review here showed it's nice and clean. I mainly want to decompress for two days, and being off strip a little might be the way to go.

My recommendations,
Monte Carlo
MGM Grand
Flamingo - cross the street to Caesars sports book

If you consider Fremont then the Nugget

Is the Bally's sport book still in the amphitheatre next to the pool? If so, that's my pick. The Bally's pool is great for kicking back. It still has a deep end (11 ft) from the days when they had diving boards and you shouldn't have trouble finding a lounge chair. The older North Tower rooms are closest to the book and pool (I think they call it the Indigo Tower now?) and they're not bad.

Thanks for the advice - thinking Mirage, MC, or LVH. On the lookout for deals. The bigger hurdle is talking to the missus..

Out of all of those Mirage would be your best bet.
It is in the nicest part of The Strip, at least to me.
Has a great pool, great rates on rooms/suites (just stay in a Resort Tower King or above as the regular rooms bathrooms suck). It has a huge sportsbook, and finally it is adj. to Forum Shops and Fashion Show so the misses can shop while you gamble/watch football. Monte Carlo would be a good choice too, but with the exception of Hotel32, their rooms are dated. LVH just plain stinks. Literally and figuratively and there is nothing around it except convention center and sadness.

Leaning towards Mirage - I do like their book and you're spot on about the location. I'll walk to CP and stop at Wynn, but that's about it. I stayed at the Mirage 13 years ago, so it will have some nostalgia to the trip.

Mirage gives out more free drink tickets at its sportsbook than any other hotel/casino.
