Mirage reveals details on new 24 hour coffee shop
Idk if this is recent news or not but the Mirage is getting a new 24 hour coffee shop called "pantry". The space was originally home to another coffee shop called the Caribe Cafe but sadly closed to make way for the B.B. King's soul food eatery which opened in November 2009 and closed last year due to financial troubles.
heres the link on the details and rendering of the new restaurant:

I think this is great. My second trip to Vegas (my first was in 1979-1980 when I was 5) was in 1989 and the Mirage had just opened. I was in 7th or 8th grade (yeah my parents were those people who took the kids now and again - please don't hate) and thus began my love with Las Vegas. To this day The Mirage under the Wynn era remains my favorite hotel of all times. Although the fire balls at the current volcano are nice they don't engulf the whole lagoon. When The Mirage was under the stewardship of Steve Wynn the whole lagoon was engulfed in flames. The tiered waterfall looked like lava flowing. It was awesome!
I think a mid in restaurant such as this could really help this property out if it is good and unique. Crossing my fingers that it is!

agreed. your story is similar to VT staffer JohnH, folks brought him to TI / Mirage as a lad and he caught the Vegas bug.
I also stayed at the Mirage in the early years (93)... it was magical to say the least. and expensive enough to send my former in-laws to the Denny's at Casino Royale. Perhaps the Pantry might do something similar to whomever is crossing the warning track for a Grand Slam breakfast.

The Caribe Cafe is my favorite Vegas coffee shop of all time. Best damn scrambled eggs and sausage I ever had in my life. The Henry is my new go-to place, but it still does not match the Caribe in its heyday.
