Heading to Vegas tomorrow, and will be staying at Wynn for the first time. I am considering upgrading to a Tower suite because, to my understanding, suite guests do not pay resort fees, get a stock Tableau breakfast daily, and get the use of two restricted pools.
The perks sound appealing to me, but I am wondering what I should reasonably be expected to pay for the upgrade so that I can be somewhat prepared at check in. I am staying mid-week, checking in Mon., checking out Fri.

I haven't checked the website for rates. Given the additional amenities and camped resort fee, I would expect an extra $150/nt. You can check the website; whatever the upcharge is there, the offer at the desk for an unsold Tower Suite should be considerably lower. Enjoy and please post photos!

Are you checking-in under a promotional rate? Casino rate? If so, be prepared to pay the prevailing rate (rate without any discounts applied). With 4 nights, that may be hard to upgrade. A night or two can be done, but it all depends on occupancy, conventions, players in-house, and how many tower suites Wynn holds in their blocks. If it's a pretty dead week, then it could be complimentary.
So for a rate, look at the rate you booked, then subtract that from a prevailing rate on the lowest grade tower suite - that is what you will pay for an upgrade of worst case scenario.

Yes, promotional rate, so the difference between my promo rate and the rack Tower King rate would be roughly $200/night; which is definitely more than I'm willing to shell out. I'll see if they're willing to deal.

Here's the usual deal with upgrading to the Tower Suites. You will pay a flat rate based on availability to upgrade at the desk. It's usually $50pn to a Tower King, $150pn to a Parlor Suite and up to $300pn to a Salon Suite. What you should know however is that upgrading at the desk allows you to opt out of the Resort Fee, but it does not allow you to get the other amenities that come if you book a Tower Suite outright. IE no free breakfast at Tableau nor any of the other premium amenities. They are quite strict on this, so you should ask at the desk if this is part of why you are wanting to upgrade.

Ironically I got a regular room with the Amex FHR so that got me a "free" upgrade to a tower suite which includes "free" internet and a "free" newspaper... and a mandatory resort fee.
(At least my reading of the paperwork inferred that the internet would be charged daily in lieu of a resort fee in the regular room...)
