2-1 on blackjacks at El Dorado

I just got back from a 3-day stay at the El Dorado, where I found a really good deal that almost no one seemed to know about.

Every two hours, members of the El Dorado's players club can swipe their cards at a "Treasures of the El Dorado" kiosk and win something. If you use a kiosk on the main casino floor, you usually get piddling stuff -- discounts at the gift shop, 2for1 show tickets, and so on. However, if you use the kiosk in the Gold Room casino on the Mezzanine level, you always seem to get a coupon that gives you 2-1 payouts on blackjacks (max bet = $25). I did this seven times on my trip, and each time, I got the 2-1 BJ coupon.

The way the coupon works is that you place it in your betting circle, and then it's good until the next shuffle. That's right: it's not a "one and done" coupon -- it's good for the entire deck or shoe. I played it on the only 6-deck shoe that I could find, figuring that whatever I was giving up playing 6 decks rather than 1 or 2 was more than offset by the fact that I was getting 6 decks worth of 2-1 blackjacks. According to the Wizard of Odds, this adds 2.27% to your advantage. The rules were 6 deck, DOA, DAS, RS4, no surrender, no RSA, which puts the overall player advantage (when playing with the coupon) at -.62 + 2.27 = +1.65%.

I played 7 shoes flat betting $25, and I managed to get the table min raised to $25 a couple of times (normally it was $5) to keep other players away and get as many hands as I could before the shuffle. I was a little worried that I was being kinda obvious about it, but neither the dealers nor the floor really seemed to care.

Oh, and in case you're curious, I wound up +$275. I have no idea how typical a result that is.

I forgot to say that the game is H17. As far as I could tell, there wasn't any other alteration to the game rules. I think that the Gold Room is a fairly new thing, and this might be one of their opening promotions.
