Just looking for opinions on which one is better to stay? Going in June, can get free stay at either.

The Harrah's inventory is, probably, in better condition...and they are nice sized rooms, each with TWO bathrooms...yes, two bathrooms! Now that's luxury!

"in better condition"... are they shit-holes and Harrah's is just a better shit-hole?

The Harrah's rooms are nice and in good shape. No expense was spared when the tower was built was the last thing Bill was involved with at the company, I think. Haven't actually stayed at Harvey's but friends tell me there's nothing wrong...or particularly right...with the rooms.

Just stayed at Harvey's. It's decent. Nothing to get too excited about. I'm working on TWHT post about the room when I get a chance.

Both are pretty comparable quality-wise (as long as you stick with the "Luxury" rooms or better at Harvey's), so I'd make the decision based on what your plans are.

Harvey's if you are single, play poker, and/or are 21-30.

Harrah's if are bringing a significant other, plan on using the spa, and/or are 40+

At the end of the day they are almost as integrated as Venetian/Palazzo or Wynn/Encore so it's hard to choose the wrong one. You can go back and forth from one to the other without ever stepping outside, and you can charge back to your room from either one.

Good point about the properties being connected...I forgot about that tunnel that connects the two!

Good advice. I think we will shoot for Harrah's. Thanks as always!

Dueling bathrooms at Harrah's are a nice touch. Ask for a lake view.

My only beef is that the VP bars at Harrah's were all $1 when we stayed in July, but it was easy enough taking the underground walkway to Harvey's to find $.25 play.

BTW, we had a fabulous dinner at Cafe Fiore in South Lake Tahoe, if you choose to get out and about. Very nice.

If I am not mistaken Harvey's and Harrah's are both owned by Caesars Entertainment. I have been to both. There really is no signifigant difference between the two casinos. They are directly across the street from one another and are connected via an underground tunnel. I would say both are comparable to a downtown Vegas casino, excluding the Golden Nugget.

I went in October 2010. The weekdays were beyond dead. Weekends were suprisingly rocking.
