Extended Tahoe stay - any suggestions?

I've managed to turn what was orginally a one night free stay at Harvey's into a three night free stay at Harvey's and a two night free stay at The Horizon.

My question is - what all is there to do to kill time in the Reno/Tahoe area for that amount of time. I know I want to drive up and see the Cal-Neva (and hopefully get the tour of Sinatra's additions) but aside from that, what else is there to do?

That sounds like fun. I love Tahoe. There isn't a whole helluva lot to do in terms of poking around casinos Vegas style, but if you throw in some day trips and outdoor activities (Heavenly gondola ride, skiing, hiking or boat trips) you'll have a full dance card.

I'd say take a day trip to Reno and check out downtown, then hop on over to the Peppermill at somepoint. You haven't lived until you've been inside their casino - it's truly a sight to be seen. As far as stuff to do in Tahoe, Montbleu has a nightclub and concerts, Harvey's has CaboWabo, theres a movie theater at Horizon too.

Another great day/evening trip is to North Lake Tahoe/Crystal Bay. After checking out the CalNeva, pop on over to the Crystal Bay Club for some drinks and gamblin. They have a rockin' night club with great touring indie rock/jam/blues/funk bands.

Make reservations at Sage Room and 19 Kitchen at Harveys for dinner.

Theres tons of stuff to do and if you get bored, just hop in the car and drive around - it's relaxing, scenic and gorgeous.

Be forewarned though - Horizon isn't that great, other than the craps tables. Rooms are basic, food is blah and the service isn't that great on the whole.

It first depends on the season, I personally prefer the summer months there.

During the Summer there is a great river rafting trip on the Truckee river that flows from Lake Tahoe.

I also enjoyed the drive around the lake as it was very beautiful all the way around.

There is also Virginia City. It all depends on you.

Yes I did the Casino tour, but the outdoors is what it is all about.

Take a drive north to Incline Village and Squaw Valley. There is a natural hot pool are at the top of Squaw if i remember correctly. I also remember a cool pub that we had lunch at in Incline Village.

Peppermill is a must! CM is totally right - I loved playing blackjack in the middle of all that neon with a great live band! AWESOME. There was lots to do inside and out, I'm sure you'll have a great time!

Alright - so I'm a little slow ---- I now notice that this was a question from two years ago. That will teach me to post on the internet just before I go to sleep.
