Anyone know what the weekday/weekend rates are? Got a reservation for Encore in May.

Not cheap, especially the weekends with XS heating up. I would check with guest services or the concierge. Within 90 days they should be able to help you out.

Last July, it was $300 weekdays, $600 Saturday, and $500 Sunday. I think the loungers and daybeds were half those prices.

Also, you should take into account the opening of the Beach Club in late may, this may drive some price hikes if there is enough overflow to Encore's pool from the Beach Club and Surrender.

If you have to ask - you can't afford it. Seriously, weekends from may sept will be reserved for high rollers who get the cabanas comped. Ask your host to get you one.

Last Memorial Day weekend, we paid $600 daily for an Encore cabana and another $300 for a lily pad, for a two-day total of $1800. Drinks and food for two days was about another $600 or so. On top of that, figure another $400 or so in tips. It adds up, but IMO when the weather is nice, I would rather spend money on a cabana than upgrading to a suite.

$300/day for F&B sure
but 67% tip? what?

wynn tower pool can order from tableau, and IIRC has nicer cabanas than resort. not sure how encore cabanas compare. probably closer to wynn tower than resort.

I've always thought that the placement of Wynn cabanas is superior to Encore's. The main pool at Encore has a few cabanas near the outer edge, but they have a lot of foot traffic directly in front. At the European pool, they are either on the first level set back in sort of a dark area, or on the second level with nice views but a small walk from the actual pool. They are very large and nicely equipped however. Wynn's cabanas are integrated a bit more nicely into the pool area, although I prefer the more subdued decor of Encore's. I would recommend searching for "Encore pool" at Flickr to see the layout if you're not familiar already.

Probably my favorite spot is the lily pads at the Encore euro pool. You're under an umbrella, right in the water with a couple loungers (with storage), plus side chairs. If you're not looking specifically for four walls or a TV, etc, I'd look at those for sure.

Kagehitokiri, tip amount is based on F&B and the cabana rental. I tend to be generous after a full day of drinking in the hot sun. And perhaps a bit delirious...

ah, so like pool attendants in addition to servers.

sigh @ tipping.

I did a lilly pad at Wynn adult pool last spring and it was 300 for a Friday. Worth every penny. I really like being in the water and with the crowd rather than being isolated in a cabana but its all preference.
