FYI, the Grand Biloxi will soon be Harrah's Gulf Coast.
I stayed at Grand Biloxi back in January. The room was actually very nice...but I didn't care for the casino at all. Very cold and generic with no life. According to the release, looks like they're gonna pump some money into the property for the Harrah's transition.

I think that is the last "The Grand XXXXX" to convert to another more notable CET brand. That is a shame. I liked the name The Grand. That said, it's nice to see CET spending some rehab money on some property somewhere.
There will now be a Harrah's Gulf Coast near(ish) the Harrah's New Orleans both of which celebrate a Mardi Gras theme that is in no short supply nearby (Mobile, Alabama, and New Orleans itself).
But what about Tunica? Could the marquee of the death-row Harrah's Tunica reappear on the Tunica Roadhouse?

I stayed there a few years ago for a night or two. It seemed like any other shabby regional or tribal property. In the future, I would pass on the free room at the Grand in favor of paying the $50 or $60 per night at the Beau Rivage down the street.
