Celebrity Chef and restauranteur Bobby Flay probably won't be in the kitchen cooking for you. Even so, his Mesa Grill is a multiple culinary award winner.

I've had three meals here, the first one (brunch) was ok, but after eating here I felt it was overpriced. The wife and I had the queso dip for an appetizer and she had a scrambled egg dish for her entree and I had the Pork tenderloin sandwich. For the price they definitely didn't seem worth it and considering Bobby Flay's reputation for flavor, I found all of the courses bland. Even my 'signature' margarita felt average. It would take a special circumstance for me to return. The second trip turned out to be a special circumstance, I was staying at Casesars, it was lunch and I was hungry, and there was no wait. So I decided to give it another try, I sat at the bar and ordered the chicken and sweet potato hash with another specialty drink (not one of their margarita types). It wasn't bad, while not full of flavor, there was at least some pep there and the drink while not great, wasn't awful. (hey it wasn't a very high bar set the first time). I left thinking I'd give it another chance. Third trip there, I decided to be careful and order the chicken and sweet potato hash again and ordered one of their margaritas this time. The hash sucked, back to bland flavor, and the margarita was mixed horribly, on top of it, I'm pretty sure they got a wad of salt in the glass as well as around the rim, it was undrinkable. (the margarita was ordered after I was finished with the hash) I quickly settled up and decided there would not be a fourth time.

I have often heard that the dishes are bland. Maybe I got there on a good night, but I can still taste the heat that ever so slowly crept into my mouth after each bite of my pork tenderloin. This heat came after 5 different flavors. My wife had the coffee rub filet and the portion and flavor were excellent. Another thing that has haunted me are the tamales. They are unlike any tamale that I have ever had and are meals in themselves. I will go again, but probably on a solo trip so I don't have to pay for my wifes meal.

You know how everyone has their favorite dining spot in Vegas? It's a very personal decision and I don't understand why people chose what they do. Mine is Mesa Grill. I love the energy, I love the food and I don't mind the wait. If you make a reservation they will ask for a credit card in advance because they can't wait to charge you if don't show. Even if you arrive on time on a Friday night you still may have to wait 45 minutes.

Yet I'm still not sure why I love this place. Everyone's tastebuds are different and I do not find the food bland like some people claim. Truly the opposite. It's my favorite eating place in Vegas.

Had to see if Flay's food sucked as much as his personality, so sucked it up and tried. Margaritas were so so for the price, and the corn soup was lovely, but the dry blue corn muffins, overly salted street corn side and dry as a bone pork loin with dry rub were some of the worst I've had. Steer clear.
