Great for breakfast and for sharing a massive plate of nachos after 12 hours of drinking.
I've eaten here a lot. Only because my first 4 Vegas trips were either budget minded or with family. It's a standard diner on par with Denny's. Breakfast is good. I think that's the only thing I've had here. It's on the same level as MGM's Grand Cafe, but not as overpriced.
It's not gourmet, sometimes it's not even that good, but I keep coming back because it's cheap, filling, and I like that low-roller ambiance at 3am after too much drinking.
When the steakhouse and the Italian restaurant are closed, this is your only option at the Excalibur, because you definitely don't want to eat in their buffet under any circumstances, and they replaced their snack bar with a Baja Fresh. The Sherwood Forest Cafe is not a bad option, except the service is your typical Vegas coffee shop snail's pace with some of the spaciest beverage servers (they get your water/coffee, etc) we've ever seen. They probably lose a lot of tips for the wait staff, and there must be a union contract behind this arrangement, because it sure is painful to watch. The food quality is reasonably good, nothing to get excited about, but you will feel like you got something for your money.
