We are not usually the types who complain about service, etc... as we figure that sometimes, people just have bad days... But, we visited Hooter's the afternoon of July 28th, just last week. We were on our last day of vacation, and wanted to do some dining and gaming at Hooters, as we have always enjoyed it in the past. This was so very different that I just feel that management would really want to know what was going on in the establishment - or at least they SHOULD want to know.
We love the bar toward the back of the casino, with the tables that have video poker. We sat down and ordered a drink and proceeded to play video poker. There were three employees; a bartender, and 2 waitresses standing around gossiping about another employee. I can tell you that I have never heard that kind of foul language in a bar before (and I have heard my fair share), especially from the employees! Every other word was "F" this, "MF" that... it was quite obnoxious as well as embarrassing. I feel that patrons should not be subjected to gossip, complaining on the job or attitude from the employees, especially not while using that kind of language, very loudly we might add - TRULY unprofessional!
Also, after giving up the gaming there because of the vibe... we went to get a bite to eat at the something Onion... and WOW! We were told they were on a wait... so we waited about 25 minutes to be seated, and were shocked when the hostess took us back to a very slow restaurant. I believe that there were at max 15 tables occupied... with several wait staff on (at least 3 server's and 2 busboy's). This was about 2'oclock in the afternoon, not a busy time. We sat down.... and waited... and waited... and waited. Not one employee ever acknowledged that we were there, never offered water or drinks, and never even glanced at us. I then went back to the hostess and complained that no one had approached us yet, and asked if we could please get some service. I watched her go and speak with the waitress, and I watched the waitress nod to her. Another 10 minutes passed with still no acknowledgement that we were even there! It was finally 25 minutes later (we were starving, and really wanted to eat... so we were trying to be patient...) but 25 minutes... REALLY???? We are not racist in the least... and don't believe other's should be, but if I didn't know better, I would swear that there was some racism going on, as we were seated in a Hispanic woman's section... and there were NO other white people there. We truly felt that we were INTENTIONALLY not acknowledged.... so sad.
So, a total of 50 minutes waiting for service of any kind.... we finally got fed up and left! We told that hostess that it was inexcusable... got a meager sorry, and we left. We left not only the restaurant... but everything behind, and tore up our OWL club cards afterwards...
It truly saddens us, as we have always really enjoyed Hooter's casino and bar. But, sadly... we can say that I don't think we will ever visit again. I am so sorry that this establishment has really gone down hill.

I've been to the Mad Onion at least three times this year in two different trips, all well beyond midnight as it is a good place to eat at that time but I have to agree with the service, it is sloooow.
The waiting in that little area where the hostess takes your name is so little for the 10 -12 people gather there at midnight on weekends, and you can't leave 'cause they will call your name and if you're not there, they will pass on you, that's just sad, bad service overall.
The food is another story, the wings are good and so is the steak, the beer and pop is also cheap and cold, I guess you get what you pay for, and for me that always ends up to $20 or less for two persons......for that, I can wait in line .
