Why is it we always end up at Rainforest Cafe after hitting the hunger melt down red zone? Is MGM Grand so aggravating or is the Rainforest Cafe a magnet for bad fucking vibes? Whatever the reason, we've never had a fun time here and promised to never go back again. You are on your own here.

Rainforest Cafe is founded on the principle that, when serving the same boring factory chicken strips and nachos every other theme-o-rama joint on the freeway does, you can improve that experience by periodically unleashing a loud simulated rainstorm full of lighting and howler monkey mating cries. Perhaps some obscure psychological study proves that triggering the fight-or-flight response stimulates the taste buds. The one upside is that it occasionally scares neighboring children into hiding under the table.
Cute frog, though.
It all started when we followed the signs that lead to the mysterious hostess podium. We were greeted in an overly friendly manner by a hostess who "takes us on a tour" (leads us to the table). She show us all the "cool stuff going on" (robotic animals all over the walls). Right when we were being seated everything got dark and she said "Look out guys!" the jaguar above our heads moved it's tail, it was... something.
A little while later our waitress came by and said we were in for a treat! I was gonna ask her if that meant they were out of food and we cold go, but I think she meant the place was "fun". We looked over the menus and I ordered a $14 veggie burger... Cat ordered a $14 "meat" burger. A half hour later our food arrives and the word uninspired doesn't really cover it. I know "burgers" aren't really exciting food, but the generic grocery store bun, morningstar farms patty and the few limp fries almost put me to sleep.
We saw our waitress twice and she sure was happy we came by and told us we should visit again soon!
Oh yeah, she wanted us to sign up for the rainforest cafe club so we could get 10% off the bill. We passed.
