South Point - The VegasTripping Review 2013

Apparently, Personality Comes at a Price

We had to be in Vegas the weekend of April 6th for a wedding. So did that stiff, Michael Jordan for his golf thingy. And so was every country star ever for the Academy of Country Music Awards. And then there were a handful of other fairly large conventions on top of that. The result? Literally comped rooms everywhere EXCEPT on the Friday and Saturday that we had to be in town. Platinum mLife "discounts" brought Mirage down to $300. Excalibur was asking $180 and Luxor $220. Per night. What the hell? Then there was South Point at a ridiculously high $120. I hadn't stayed there, but I'd heard mostly positive things and it was a chance to try something new. Besides, with about 20 of us descending onto Vegas, including several children, it's not like a proper strip resort could be enjoyed to its fullest extent. So... » continue
