Inside The Golden Nugget Spa Tower Suites
Peeping The New Suites With Joekollar
Here's a special treat, VT reader joekollar recently stayed in one of the suites we've been lusting after for at least 10 years - the bi-level Spa Tower suites at the Golden Nugget. These rooms were built during the Steve Wynn era and until very recently (the last few months) retained some of the original Roger Thomas design flourishes. Now, hey are all brand new, you can feel it in their kiss, oh yes, they are crazy for you, touch them once and you'll know it's true. Take it away, Joe!
The Golden Nugget is my favorite place in Vegas. All of the comfort and amenities of the strip but with Downtown's much more relaxed vibe and better casino odds. We recently splurged and stayed in the Spa Tower Suites at GN. These 2 level suites are a great deal for what they cost and everybody should give them a try at least once. They are decorated tastefully in red/brown/golds similar to the newer Rush Tower. The lower level has a huge living room, half bath and bar while the upstairs is the master bedroom and completely insane master bath.
The living room had a big flatscreen on the wall as well as a DVD player and full stereo system with surprisingly large speakers. You could really bug the neighbors with this setup if you were so inclined. The bar had a nice mini-fridge, a small sink, lots of glasses and a Keurig coffee maker. There were complimentary bottles of water in the fridge but that's it. We have a Keurig at home so we just brought some of our own K-cups instead of paying the GN $12 for 4. Everything worked well, the TV even got some real HD channels.
