Real Deal on the Ballys
Good action, standard strip fare... nothing too fancy, but the table minimums jump to $15-25 on weekends. Head over to O'Shea's if you want cheaper action. Ballys does have a bank of Blazing 7 dollar slot machines that have been quite profitiable for the VT Posse. Their 'poker room' is a nook on the casino floor that they took slots out of... meh.
Are the vibes lucky at Ballys?
Great vibes... love the freaky blue walkway. The casino reminds us of Atlantic City a bit. Since Bally's is connected directly to Paris, expect to see both Ballys and Paris chips on the tables and lots of Parisians. The center of the casino is all $1 slots - nickels are by the Keno pit (hang a right when you enter from the strip). Harrah's has made many adjustments to the joint since they took it over. New carpets were installed in 2006, a poker room (we use that term loosely) was shoehorned into a square where a mondo bank of slots used to be.
What casino games are offered at Ballys?
Good action, slightly higher table minimums (usually $15-25 Blackjack on weekends) but always a couple of $5 craps tables. Ballys added a "poker room" in 2004 - basically they pulled out 5 banks of slot machines and threw some poker tables there. Not a 'poker room' per se, but they're usually crowded. Other than that, Bally hosts all sortsa slots, a Race and Sports Book (way down in the back of the property - you've got to walk through the 'mall' to get there) BlackJack, Baccarat, Craps, Roulette, PaiGow, Caribbean Stud, Let It Ride, Three Card Poker, Mini-Baccarat, Keno and more... The traditional table games are in the main pit and the carnival games are on the elevated portion towards the Sports Book.
Golfer John Daly reportedly lost a coupla million dollars playing a $500 slot machine in the high limit platform - too bad they've never had a $500 slot machine.
Does Ballys have casino comps?
Total Rewards works at all Harrah's properties - Paris, Caesars, Harrah's, & Flamingo.

Friendly staff, one of the best locations in Vegas, good buffet, and huge, clean rooms.

Just good 'ol fun. Nothing too fancy but if you need fancy... it's connected to Paris.

Ballys has decent rooms for a decent price. it's lack of theme is a big draw. if i see another shopping mall done up to look like a bazaar from a foreign city, there's a good chance i might slit my wrists.

I generally get decent room comps at Ballys, so for the price, the rooms are pretty nice. I've never stayed in the classic room, just the deluxe. The pool is a bit worn, but isn't really an issue. I just go over to the Paris pool. The tables are okay. Dealers are reasonably friendly. I've found a couple of slots that pay reasonably well. I also won the Race Game on the Price is Right Show during my stay. Good Times!!

Stayed at Ballys in 2004. One thing I've always respected about Bally's, sans the goofy entrance, is that it doesn't really have a theme. It's just a resort/casino with a really great location. For some, that's enough. Our room was surprisingly large for a standard-size room. We certainly had no complaints with our stay from a service standpoint. My only gripe with Bally's is the walk to the pool. It's a MILE from the rooms! When you get off the elevator you have to walk past the sportsbook and their row of shops to get to the pool area. Granted, I take no shame in displaying my near-nakedness to the discomfort of others, but I feel sorry for those not as sordid as me! Overall.....Bally's is Bally's. It's not Wynn LV. It's not Bellagio. It's Bally's. If you're looking for great location, a suitable room, and no frills........it's a good catch.
