History of Caesars Palace

Built in 1966, Caesars Palace Hotel & Casino was the first of the mega-resorts that catered to high rollers, whales and jet-setter celebrities who live to be pampered. Caesars Palace is the epitome of Rat Pack Cool (at least since the Dunes and Sands have been demolished) It's massive marble statues and faux-Greek architecture define Emperor style in all its magnificent and somewhat gaudy glory. Hail Caesars! If you're a shopping addict, be sure to peruse The Forum Shops @ Caesars, and get a White Chocolate drink at Vosges chocolate shop.

How are the rooms at Caesars Palace?

Caesars Palace offers 7 room choices... from the basic, yet still well appointed Deluxe room to the Duplex Suite (the Rain Man suite). Our personal favorite is the Spa Deluxe room, somewhat spacious with a jacuzzi kicker. Great for the person who wants a little style but dosent want to spend $500/night. Spa deluxe weekend rates are generally around $200.

What restaurants are at Caesars Palace?

Caesars Palace offers 7 fine dining options, from Franco-Asian cuisine to, Japanese Teppan Yaki to Steaks and Chops to Italian to you name it. You can email dinner reservation requests directly to the Caesar himself. Caesars also offers a 24 hour poolside buffet at Cafe Lago as well... I'll have the Caesar salad. There are also tons of dining options inside The Forum Shops@Caesars, including Wolfgang Pucks 'Spago' (overrated) and our personal favorite "The Palm" where the food and the service are fabulous.

For something sweet and sublime, go to Vosges chocolate in the Forum Shops and get the White Chocolate and Lavender drink at the bar in the back. WOW!

Where is Caesars Palace Located?

The center of the Vegas universe. Caesars Palace is smack dab in the middle of aaaaaaallll the action. Just accross the street from the Flamingo, with some cheaper gaming alternatives within walking distance. They've been doing some construction on the Strip facing portion of Caesars Palace so getting around will be a little difficult until its completed (October 2004).

Exclusive Tips for Caesars Palace:

We're not big fans of Celine Dion, but some say she puts on quite a show. I'd rather opt-in to the Elton John Red Piano show. Be sure to get tickets before you come, it sells out in advance. Bette Midler is replacing Celine in February 2008...not sure which is worse.

Pure nightclub is were all the hot gals in tight dresses and dorky guys in their buttondown/jeans uniform go to party. They have celebrities hosting quite often, but they're in a cordoned off VIP area so don't get your hopes up about groping Paris Lohan-Spears.

Hats off to this joint! One of the oldest on the strip, but still maintains it's status. Constantly renovating, constructing, and adding on...the place does not show it's age. Stay in one of the new towers if you can. Great location and ambiance. Pleasant dealers and great players club. Casino is a little difficult to navigate because of multiple areas and layout. Rooms are exceptional in the new towers...acceptable in the old. Great upscale restaurants, also low fare deli type options. What else can you say about this Vegas Mecca....it's Caesars for cryin out loud.

This was the first place I ever stayed at in Las Vegas. The year was 2001. We were slated to stay at Monte Carlo. Our trip was two weeks after the events of 911 and when we saw prices bottom out, we decided to switch to Caesars. I'm a huge fan of "Old Vegas" and what I love about Caesars is that they've never imploded; they just remodel and add on. What a treat to step into the original casino and realize it's more or less the same casino from 1966! Nostalgia aside, Caesars is not cheep....yet that's insignificant. It's a Las Veags icon. Bellagio, Wynn, Venitian, etc... they never happen without this place. The staff was top notch. The room, (I stayed in one of the older towers) still very up to par, the class......that's where they got me! My advice....if you want to experience first rate Las Vegas but also respect its history......try Caesars Palace. You will not be dissapointed!

Hi everyone!...Caesars Palace is FANTASTIC!!! We have earned great comps on rooms, food etc! Hand the checkin clerk a $20. bill, andyou are sure to be upgraded...Honest!!Join their players club..I consider it one of the best. You can have a blast here, from the casino to the pools. Everyone on staff is very helpful and courteous. Try Flamingo, or ballys ETC. Any hotels listed for Caesars/harrahs. You wont regret it. Be sure and join the TOTAL rewards CLUB, FOR ALL KINDS OF DEALS..

Caesars Palace is the casino I normally stay at, since I am comped there. The rooms in the Palace tower are very nicely appointed. I enjoy the casino and find their staff very friendly and attentive. The restaurants have never disappointed me. The breakfast buffet is very good, and the patisserie's desserts are incredible. Rao's has great Italian, but Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill surprised me. I had this incredible shrimp and corn tamale that was just outstanding. Talk about great food, I was incredibly impressed with all the dishes at Mesa and look forward to returning.

Proof that kitsch is still king in Vegas. Even with the $12 drinks and Paris/Britney-infested PURE, I can't but feel this place is the epitome of this town. Oh, and Cleopatra's Barge is a haven for all things groovy.

My wife and I stayed here for our 24th anniversary. The desk clerk upgraded us to the Palace Tower, which was nice. I've heard that the new Augustus Tower is the bomb, but I won't spend that much money on a room in Vegas. I go where the comps are. The pools are fantastic. The adult pool was also worth the trip. My wife kept pointing out all of the worthwhile sites. She's so cool. I didn't gamble much in the casino. Table limits are a bit rich for my taste, but I did have to indulge in some Pussycat Dolls blackjack.

Caesars Palace is a very good place.(better than Wynn). I'm very pleased on how they maintained their quality for 40 years! Every time my family and I go to Vegas I have to go to Caesars! Its like tradition.

From end to end, walking this place takes a fucking year. Pure is probably the greatest nightclub I've ever been in; first night I went it was a porn convention after-party, which was pretty interesting.

ever since harrah's took over this place i can't stand it. i don't know of any other gaming company out there that is so blatant in separating it's invited guests from the average tourist. a little discreteness would be nice. pure has an ridiculous line. what's the point of being a diamond or seven star member if you still have to wait an hour to get in? even offered the bouncer a zj but he politely declined. what's a zj? if you have to ask than you can't afford one... original rooms need a little upgrading. seriously. augustus tower is nice though.
