I really enjoy the Flaming-o. The pools are great, the drink service is always good. The cheesy pink neon and 80's music go hand in hand to create a classic Vegas atmosphere. Bugsy's Bar is a great place to play video poker and get Vegas smashed

Stayed at Flamingo a couple years back. They overbooked our room the first night so they put us in a luxury suite. Very nice! Of course.....they booted us outta there the next day, but they put us in a standard room high up with a great view of Caesars, Bellagio, etc. Not that anyone spends all that much time in the room, but it was cool considering I usually get the view of the trash compactor or the air conditioning unit when I stay somewhere. Overall, nice service, nice prices, and the best location on The Strip. The pool area can be maze-like confusing based on one's blood-alcohol-level. The casino is nothing particularly special. I'd recommend avoiding the over-priced, over-commerical Margaritaville as well. BUT....if you're looking for a value-minded stay in the heart of the action, you won't be disappointed with The Flamingo.

Can't beat the location... it has to be the best on the Strip! Stayed in a "Go" room May '07, not terribly impressed. The problem was that it was a regular size room with extras and a strange 60's vibe in the decorating-bright pink and brown colors with white vinyl accents. The pool area is exceptional even for those of us who are not sunbathers. The tables run high limit in the evenings and weekends but $5 tables can be found in the mornings. A friend spends more time in the Flamingo Poker room than her hotel room so that speaks well of the Poker Room. With comp offers I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Had a GO room on the 20th floor with a partial strip view of the Bellagio fountains. The bed is very comfortable. This was a perfectly located homebase for rest/breaks in-between walks/crawls of the strip. Room service was so-so; tried to order 2 of the same breakfasts but only got 1. Toni Braxton got sick while we were there. Clean room, plenty of space. All in all a great first experience for me and the wife.

I am a Flamingo expert! From getting married out back in the Gazebo to a bad experience with bedbugs, Flamingo is still my favorite. Cocktail waitress, slot attendents, pit bosses and dealers have all been top notch since I first visited in 2002. Security keeps a good eye on things outside and inside the building. August will make my third trip within a year, and I stay at the Flamingo all the time. The location is great and being a Jimmy Buffet and Benny Siegel fan, staying at the Flamingo only makes sence. The "GO" pool, while being topless, is a great a relaxing place. NO KIDS! YEAH! Now the bad things: There have also been a few oppurtunities for this grand ol' place. Some of the front desk staff, not all, needs to be hit by a Mack truck! It would not change their persomality one bit. Management needs one more year at Manners University, hopefully this time passing the course. (The bedbug situtation was really mishandled)Other than that small thing, I will return to the Flamingo in August to celebrate my anniversary and continue to sing the praises of the "House that Bugsy built!"

Had a GO! room from April 27-30 and was quite impressed. Up on the 17th floor, had a great view of the garden and Flamingo habitat. The gaming was good, though I didn't play any table games on the strip - only downtown. Didn't give the drink service a try here, though. The room was a novelty - the lights right over the bed were too bright for my taste. Shower door wasn't the best at staying shut, but it was clean and it was cheap. For Center Strip, you can't beat these prices. And if you have the extra dough to blow, eat at the Steakhouse 46. Don't get the caesar salad, though. Not a big fan. Overall, loved the Flamingo. Gladly stay here again.

Great pools, average rooms, easy on the wallet

Instead of demolishing a landmark and/or trying to go for some bland hip and trendy theme, this old-timer has instead reinvented itself by embracing it's retro-gaudy glamour. It's kinda like spending the night on a high quality porno set from the 70's.

Great location. GO room was very nice. It had a view of the fountains. Bed was enormous and comfortable. Room service was so-so. Only got 1 of the 2 breakfasts we ordered 1 hour earlier. Monorail station saves you a lot of walking. Overall great experience. Toni braxton got sick while we were there - canceled the rest of the weeks shows. I'll stay again.

If you are a medium roller and want to stay on the Strip - the Flamingo really cannot be beat. Tons of new restaurants, perfect location, bigger rooms than Harrah's, the Go Rooms and all that mob mystique. Too bad the slots are tighter than a strippers g-string.

I will only stay in the GO Room. Deluxe had a view of the habitat and pool. Luxury had a view of the Bellagio fountains, turn down service with some truly awesome cookies. I've stayed at the Flamingo three times. The one time the pool was open was in October. With the weather mostly in the 70's, the pool didn't get much action. However, I was surprised how dirty it was. It might be better in the summer. The hotel also needs to post security by the elevators at night. Got up a couple of mornings to find stripper cards in the doors, on the floor, in light fixtures, etc. I like to play blackjack with the Flamingo girls by the front door. Table minimums are low (usually $10), the dealers shuffle, and I like a cute dealer that doesn't come with a $25 or higher table minimum. I agree with the Tripping site that the slots are very tight. The Flamingo is also very convenient, since my wife and I start every trip to Vegas with a Who's to Blame Margarita and a mango float along with Volcano Nachos at Margaritaville timed so I get to see the Bikini clad volcano sacrifice. My wife is so cool.

THIS WAS AN EXPERIENCE TO STAY IN ONE OF THE OLDEST CASION'S IN VEGAS,BUT ALAS I WILL SAY IT IS STARTING TO REALLY SHOW IT'S AGE. THE ROOMS AT LEAST THE OLDER ONES REALLY REALLY NEED SOME FIXING UP. THE POOL'S ARE SUPER BUT WAY WAY TOO OVER CROWDED THE LAST TIME WE STAYED THERE WHICH WAS 2007 MY SISTER AND I WENT TO THE POOL AREA AND WE COULD NOT FIND ONE EMPTY CHAIR SPACE NOTHING TO EVEN SIT ON. THEY REALLY NEED TO THINK SOMETHING OUT HERE BIG PROBLEM.IT WAS FUN THO AND FOR THE MONEY A PRETTY GOOD DEAL

this is where i stay when my cheapskate friends have bachelor parties and nobody wants to pony up any money. TIP: spend the entire day at the pool during the summer. shell out the $150 and get a cabana you will not regret it. plenty of eye candy walking around but without that pretentious bs you have to put up with like you would over at places like the palms or hard rock. there's nothing better than being a drunk adult pushing little kids out of the way so you can go on the water slide again and again. trust me you will go on it more than once.

It's nice, it's central, it's got a great pool, but I'm never excited about being here. People seem to be having much more fun at the stifling, confining casino at Harrah's than here. The "deluxe" rooms that have not yet been remodeled are still in good shape, are fairly big and can be a pretty good value. Try walking from one end of the floor to the other with the 4 adjoined towers. I counted 156 rooms on one floor. Bring water, you also need to walk back.

First the positives: Best location in Vegas. Great history. Relaxed gambling atmosphere. Decent drink service. Good players club and mail marketing. The Negatives: It is a downtown casino misplaced among the bajillion dollar giants. Smokey and just not up to par with it's brothers and sisters at the center strip. Spa and fitness facility are a joke... relatively speaking.I recommend this place if you have already DONE Vegas and wish to save a few bucks. If you are trying to impress your girl on her first trip to Sin City, do Bellagio, Wynn, Caesars, or Paris.
