Green Valley Ranch - The Real Deal :
Green Valley Ranck, aka GVR... the home of Ninya & Shamu Shadd, the District shopping, Hank's steakhouse and the Las Vegas home of Steel Panther and Sin City Sinners. What GVR has in fancy hotel rooms, excellent restaurants, great entertainment and hot casino action, it supremely lacks in that teeny tiny thing called location... unless you find the cookie cutter miasma that is Las Vegas' suburban sprawl fascinating. Nuh uh.
Green Valley Ranch History
GVR is a coupla hundred blocks away from the Strip in nearby Henderson, Nevada. The Green Valley Ranch caters to exclusive clientele who want all the amenities of Bellagio without having to dodge autograph seekers and bubble butted old ladies from West Virginia. Nice place, with enough hoity for the toitiest traveller.

Henderson Nevada... way the fudge out of town proper, but still a nice drive to get there. If you're coming in from L.A. exit at the I-215 and go east to Green Valley Parkway... bingo.

The Rooms at Green Valley Ranch
All rooms at GVR are very finely furnished with down comforters (call ahead if you have allergies to down). High speed internet access (Hells Yah!) Web TV, bathrobes... the works. Oh and for $100 they'll let you bring your dog.
Restaurants at Green Valley Ranch
A ton of food offerings... from pancakes to steaks to pubs to ice cream to pizza to chinese to a friggin Fatburger. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is a nice touch... not Starbucks but still groovy.

Well, of course, this is where American Casino is filmed. Maybe if you are lucky, you can catch a glimpse of 'Shamu Shadd' (like really lucky, he doesn't work there anymore.)

I love love love GVR. I'm a local girl so that could be part of it. Hank's is one of THE BEST steakhouses in town. The entertainment there is also awesome. Steel Panther on the weekends? Yes, please. Nashville Unplugged on certain Fridays - I'll take it and I'm not even a country music girl! Also love Original Pancake House; one amazing breakfast - and I love their baked omelets!

Off the strip spot with comfortable rooms and a big bathroom the size of the bathrooms in some of the 5 star strip resorts. I like to hang here because its a locals spot and has a more relaxed vibe than the strip. Sometimes you just gotta get away from the strip! Decent, well priced buffet.
Lots of great places to eat adjacent to the hotel and lots of cool neat shops there also. Can't complain about customer service here.

This is Station's carpet joint closest to my "Home Sweet Henderson" pad. It used to be the "top notch joint" around these parts, but lately The M has been stealing its thunder... And one of its parent companies is bankrupt while the other is struggling. GVR has a great outdoor mall, The District, right outside along with a big movie theater inside. But if you're looking more "naughty fun" (nightclubs, burlesque shows, etc.), you won't really find much of anything here.

Renovated rooms are very nice and include high-speed internet. But it's layed out almost as bad as Ceasars. From the casino, go down the hallway, turn left, go down another hallway, through two sets of doors, take the elevator down, go right, left, left, right, left, take the elevator up to the 5th floor, go down the hall, room on left?
