Hooters - The Real Deal :

Hooters Casino is pretty nice. Its cozy and bright and full of finely finished pine that was purchased at Home Depot (maybe). The blackjack dealers wear Hooters girls outfits. The bar in the front serves Margaritas and lots and lots of domestic beer. The main pit is somewhat small, 10-15 table games surrounded by slots of varying denominations. To the south east of the main pit (in and to the left) there are a bunch more table games manned by male dealers. The slots are generally tight, and theres lots of guys here. The ESPN crowd that can't afford the Hard Rock - college guys.

Hooters History

The faithful and steadfast San Remo (a shortened Italian variation of the name Remus) has apparently become the patron saint of Silicone and Hot Pants. In August 2004, it was announced that the San Remo would swap spit with the Hooters Restaurant/Airline Chain to make the deliciously dicey joint "Hooters Hotel and Casino". We aren't big fans of Hooters in general, but the prospect of having the elegant and underappreciated San Remo develop into a slightly more happening joint on Tropicana Blvd is exciting to us. It makes perfect sense though... T & A Hooters branding will surely poach a handful of customers from MGM and the nearly extinct Tropicana as well as make the lights just bright enough for Hard Rock and Palms swingers to take a second look. Its a gamble for sure, but one that will probably pay off.

Location of Hooters:

The Hooters Hotel & Casino is located right next door to the Tropicana and across the street from MGM Grand... mere steps away from the intersection of Tropicana Boulevard and The Las Vegas Strip. LuXor, Exacalibur, Mandalay Bay, Tropicana, New York-New York and Monte Carlo are all within reasonable walking distance, and the Vegas Monorail from MGM Grand will take you all the way down the strip if you need it to.

The Rooms at Hooters

With the brand new Hooters Hotel & Casino comes totally refurbished rooms complete with orange lampshades, trademark Hooters natural pine finishing and a healthy dollop of beach comber vibe. The rooms are brand spankin new from the ground up (sort of), suites have jacuzzis, some have outdoor terraces, but everything is reasonably clean and spiffy. No, Hooters girls do not come as standard amenities, you'll have to figure out that angle on your own.

Restaurants at Hooters

Dan Marino's offers decent finger eats in an upscale (no not really) atmosphere. We recommend the Thai Chicken Lettuce wraps, they're just like what you'd get a PF Changs, but different. Hooters the same buff wingers and burgers you'll find at your local Hoots. Pete & Shorty's is a sports bar, no food. Dixie's Dam Country Bar - country and western bar open W-Sat nights, live bands too.

Hooters Tips

The Blackjack dealers wear orange hotpants and want you to stare at their buns. They've got some nice looking buns. Lotsa guys in here. Like the tank tops ahd hot pants, the slots are tight too.

I've stayed at this property twice..rooms are clean, comfortable and affordable..casino is rather small, but you'll find anything here you can find at the bigger properties just down the street..the Hooters Resturant here should be open far longer at night than it is currently, but that's a small gripe..if you're looking for an affordable, quiet place to stay in Vegas, this is a solid choice.

$50 bucks a night for a clean, comfortable, quiet room to sleep in with pleasant responsive staff, hot Hooter's Girls, decent pool, and a stone's throw from the Strip.
3 Dice for 'swank' factor, 5 dice for value and service.

I think the rooms at this off-strip property are closer to the strip than many of the rooms at on-strip resorts. Since this place is no longer trying to get upscale prices for the mid-level accommodations, this place can be quite convenient and comfortable for the price. In many ways the place is spiffed up, with a nice pool area and a comfortable bed. But it's still lipstick on the San Remo (the former incarnation of the property.) In my room, the TV reception was terrible, and clock-radio had to be close to 20 years old! I thought it was a riot that I landed a room in the "Ocean View" tower, in the middle of the desert.

First and foremost, the gaming is kind of ridiculous here. Sure, they pay 3:2 on blackjack but I've been here when it was dead and the minimums were $10. I will play at that rate or even a little higher, but don't like being forced to at a dead casino in a location that isn't that great.

I stayed at a room here for a night or two, can't remember. The one thing that bothered me is I went during a dead time of the year and you could tell the hotel wasn't anywhere near full occupancy but they refused to let me check in early and actually ended up checking me in late. Maybe they treated me this way because I got the room on priceline but still doesn't ingratiate them toward me.

The room was small and clean, actually a little cramped with the stuff they tried to pack in there in my opinion. My overall experience wasn't terrible but they'd probably have to comp me or offer $30 rooms for me to stay here again.

Stayed here my second trip to Vegas in 2009. After canceling reservations with Stratosphere, and Sahara. Rooms were below average, Casino wasn't anything to special... did stay up to about 4am playing Roulette. Only thing I liked about Hooters was the location, since I'm a big fan of the South Strip and had MGM close by.
