Real Deal on the Imperial Palace

The Imperial Palace has great medium-low roller gambling... its not-too-flashy fun for the serious gamer who dosen't feel the need to impress or wants to keep it on the down-low.

Are the vibes lucky at Imperial Palace?

Don't be surprised if Dan Tana walks straight in out of an episode of VEGA$ into the IP. Its funky, a little musty, and the Asian vibe is cool. Don't expect flashy bling-bling [ Its just bling now, by the way - Ed ] pimp and ho party at this place a la Hard Rock. Ripped jeans and Radiohead t-shirts are welcome, this place is down home and comfortable. Expect to hi-five someone's grandma at the Wheel of Fortune slots.

What casino games are offered at Imperial Palace?

Lots of playable 25¢ slots, with nickels, dollars and $5 machines too. You can easily spend a coupla days in the slot pits there and not lose your Grandma's jewlery. Tons of reels, video slots, and three bars with video poker machines, and decent pay schedules on em. The bartender will request that you play max credits for freebie drinks, but really, you should be doing that anyways... and feed you drinks they will. More than once, i've had to stagger back to the room to drain my leg full of Rum & Cokes. Good Times.

Also notable at the IP is their Legends BlackJack Pit. Michael Jackson, Rod Stewart, Marilyn, Liza, Madonna (Esther to all the Kaballists in the hizzy fo shizzle), Jake and Elwood Blues, Ricky Martin, Babs, all dealing 6 deck blackjack. Every once in a while they break out the jams and do this crazy performance while they tap each other out. Its quite silly, yet very fun... and kinda trippy.

Does Imperial Palace have casino comps?

The Imperial Player club is a standard comp club with an agressive points system based on how much action you give the casino at your money. Perks include, comp rooms, food, shows and a selection of gifts to choose from. If you play enough slots they send you invitation to the slot tournaments ($400 entry, free room and food for two mid-week evenings, plus entry into the tournament.) They also give away tickets to the classic car collection they have on premises.

Ratings and Reviews of Imperial Palace:

The IP has lots of character but be prepared for a smoky casino. The rooms are fine, highlight being the huge round tub that lives outside of the bathroom. It's definitely worth a try.

My Rating: 5

5 - Only for sentimental reasons. The IP was there for us when the dotcom blew up and left us penniless. The IP didn't care that we were too broke, Ippy gave us a place to stay mid-strip while we pretended that we were still rolling mid level. Fond memories of pissing away time and small change at the bar video slots before having to be carried up to our room will always be a hightlight of our early days in Vegas.

The only things Emperor Wang's Impotent Palace has going for it is 1.) Location and 2.) Value. The Mid-Strip location can't be beat (plus O'Sheas is right next door.). You can get very cheap room rates, sometimes even cheaper than Casino Royale. I stayed there back in 2006, the Deluxe room wasn't that bad (decor from a 70s porno), I just happened to be on a floor where folks were partying in their rooms (must have lost the money they earmarked for some ultralounge) so I never got a decent sleep the two nights I stayed there. As for the restaurants. Just say no! I made the mistake of eating at the Teahouse and the food was barely edible. You're better off hitting the food court over at O'sheas.

My Rating: 4

Great location and the deluxe rooms are not too bad. Tearoom is not that bad, but beware the Emperors Buffet, it could kill you. Definitely stay here again.

Stayed at IP several times and always have a great time. Only complaint would be the slow elevators, otherwise great value for the money. Sentimental favorite as this was the first hotel I stayed at in Vegas.

Stinky, musty, funky. Mostly good qualities in my book, but the key to the IP is the value. Great prices on huge yet kinda trashy rooms. Luv Tub = Awesome

Not the nicest of hotels, but for the location and the price, you can't beat it. Stayed there back in March of '06 (Deluxe room with a semi obscured view of the Strip. I could see part of Caesars and most of the Bellagio) and did quite well in the casino, winning $500 on a penny slot (ended up donating $100 of it back a little while later at the craps table). The Teahouse is not very good, and leaves a lot to be desired.

I love the dankness of the dank!!! The MaiTai bar is a great place to enjoy some video poker and cold brew.

Stayed here a couple times. Cheap and mid-strip. Can be a fun place with decent cocktail service. Only place I've eaten is the cafe and it was only ok.

It's great location on the Strip and the value for the room make this a great choice for a "budget" trip to Vegas. Exciting casino and vibe. Only drawback.....S...L...O...W elevators. Just a thought. On the trip that we stayed at IP, our booking was messed up and so we had a room at Planet Hollywood and a room here for a couple of nights. It was nice to have a room at both ends of the strip to "freshen up" and top off drinks.

VERY WORN ROOMS, The Single Greatest Location on the Strip, Fun Dealers, Younger vibe in casino (frathouse atmosphere), Slow Elevators, Lousy Dining Options, Ask for Deluxe (renovated) rooms, Should probably be imploded, but is fun for unpretentious folks on a budget that want to stay on Strip but dont care about sleeping in a dumpy room.

Only stayed there because it was the cheapest strip hotel. Can't beat the location for the price.

Oh my god this place is creepy and there are rooms in the parking garage. we had a room with a strip view so you can look out onto somewhere you'd rather be staying. of course that meant that the Harras outside live band was right below our window. Just poop!

The place where I seen the great Terry Archer singing in a oddly busy lounge near the main casino entrance. Sadly this lounge is now turned into a poker room.. I hope you still out there singing you heart out and hitting the low notes Terry, I wish you the best!!
Without Terry Archer, I have no intrest in thiis casino. Although I did hear they have the Lowrider magazine convention here..
Im sure its days are numbered..
