Real Deal on the Stratosphere
The Stratosphere Hotel & Casino kinda gets a bum rap. The rooms are priced to move, the dining is full of value and the casino is playable and... well... kinda fun. If you're looking for a great deal, the Strat is definitely a better bet than the aging Sahara and the puketastic Circus Circus if you don't mind being a slight bit isolated.
As for the casino, The Stratosphere offers a bunch of oddball variations on blackjack, roulette and other games. While it may be tempting to try your luck at Double Exposure Blackjack or some of these other carnival variations on standard casino games, remember they've been rigged to make the odds even more in favor of the house. Stay away from Double Exposure Blackjack and Crapsless Craps at Stratosphere!
Are the vibes lucky at Stratosphere?
The Stratosphere's casino sometimes feels a little empty and unfun. They've made a lot of changes lately, new slots, new tables, new carpeting, better decor and are planning more. We don't love this place, but the rooms are cheap and nice and 10x craps odds are hard to stay away from.
What casino games are offered at Stratosphere?
If you're going to the Stratosphere, be sure to get on the 10x Craps table odds as well as the single Zero roulette. Also be sure to stay away from the Double Exposure blackjack, its a sucker bet as is the Crapsless Craps. Other games offered: Slots, Video Poker, Poker Room, Sportsbook, Single/Double/Shoe blackjack, PaiGow, Mini-Baccarat, Three Card Poker, Caribbean Stud, Let It Ride and the Big Six Wheel.
Does Stratosphere have casino comps?
Dining freebies are pretty easy to come by as are tickets to the observation deck.

I found this to be one of the easiest places to score free drinks. I visited a lot of places where drink service was next to impossible, but these people wanted to get me drunk. I guess they were making up for the bad location. I literally spent less than $5 on slots and scored three whiskey and cokes.Rooms are cheaper than on the south end of the strip, but so are the Sahara's and they at least have a monorail station connected to their hotel.

So many dreams unfulfilled. This was my baby. I risked everything on her.

Stayed at the Strat on previous trip and really enjoyed myself. Would definitely stay again.

Great for the money but the location was an issue

The food at Top of the World was just okay, but the view is breathtaking. Only spent about 45 minutes in the casino-put $20 in a 25 cent Wheel of Fortune and cashed out with $374. Might stop by this joint again sometime.

Nice hotel, good casino, just a little out of the way of everything still. Maybe once the strip grows, it'll do better, but I'd stay there again

I haven't had any great experiences at the Stratosphere, but I haven't had any bad ones either. The Stupak legend and that big honkin' tower make it noteworthy.

Boring and far from everything, the Stratosphere's only redeeming qualities are the revolving restaurant that gives you a view from the end of the strip, and the thrill rides at the top of the tower. If only they'd build that roller coaster that descends straight down from the top, I mist just go back for an hour or two.

Now that I've stayed here in May 2008 just for the sake of saying that I've stayed here, I can now assure everyone who asks me that if it's north of Sahara Avenue, it doesn't qualify as being the "strip." The rooms are very standard at best, and you're not close to much...the best thing being the "Luv-It Frozen Custard" stand. If you can spend a few more bucks, stay further south on the strip. If you can't, stay on Fremont Street.

Stayed here in one of the suites. Great room for the price, and slots were very liberal. Will definitely stay here again.
