Real Deal on the Tropicana
The Tropicana's casino sits under a beautiful stained glass ceiling that is just delightful to gawk at inbetween hands or pulls at the slots. The casino isn't too big, in fact it's pretty small by current standards, but that only adds to the charm. Most of the slot machines are currently being changed out for Ticket In setups, so say goodbye to the klang klang klang as well as the dirty fingers and change buckets.
Speaking of slots, they're playable... we've never hit any big wins here, but have always had some nice long runs on minimal investment. We have not been back since the new machines have been installed so if you have any insight into how the Tropicana's new casino set up is treating players... post a review of the Trop.
Are the vibes lucky at Tropicana?
Classic Vegas meets new-school Vegas. Tropical and wonderful... a little dumpy but its got a great positive glow and the folks who work there are quite friendly and helpful. We like playing here, but don't make it over to the Trop as much as we would like... it isn't the easiest joint to navigate to.
What casino games are offered at Tropicana?
BlackJack, Craps, Roulette, Three Card Poker, Let It Ride, PaiGow, Carribean Stud, a grip of slots and Video Poker.
Does Tropicana have casino comps?
Join the Winners Club and get comped for all your slot and table game play. The Tropicana marketing department sends out emails and mailings if you give them a bunch of action.

This is the best casino ever! It's so horribly tacky and had ME written all over it. The Celebration Lounge was just horrible (and I mean that with the most respect ever) the drinks were good and strong and cheap and the bartender was wearing cop glasses and look liked he just walked out of an episode of CHiPS.......if you're looking for superb upscale (which I do NOT) then this is not the place for you. It's so cheap and ridiculous. (NOTE: I have not stayed at this hotel, only ventured inside and stayed for a few hours)

Why did I add this to my favorites? I really don't know.

Yuck, yuck, yuck. The mainstay of my best friend's parents (who got me a great rate there once-- thanks!), this property was tired and downright dirty. I got free tickets to the burlesque show at the time, and it was... interesting. Lofty pretensions with seemingly little real directorial sense to back it up. (I get the impression it may have fallen from greatness.) The only bonus might be the mirror above the bed in a faux-bamboo frame, if only my wife had been with me for that trip.

The rooms at the Trop are clean and a pretty good deal over all, but hot damn this place is a bore.
