Not a whole hell of a lot not to like. I love how the whole city feels like you are in a theme park for adults. I have to say I do like the themed hotels a lot better.

Mirage

I love the Mirage. This is still what I think about when I think about Las Vegas. There is no place I would rather be then at the Mirage pool. I recently stayed in a one bedroom Tower Suite, and I have to say for the price it was, without a doubt, amazing. It was $135 a night for the first 3 nights the $150 for the last, and they included $80 in food credit, a line pass ( but only for the cafe, buffet, and CPK) And, 4 tickets to the dolphin habitat and secret garden. The room was starting to show it's age, but it was big, spotless and beyond comfortable.

Mandalay Bay

I stayed here all the way back in 99. The beach/pool area in just amazing. The room was great, very clean and fresh ( I think it was only a year old at the time). They had just started building Shark Reef when we stayed, so when I went back to Vegas a few years later I saw it. Pretty nice, a good thing to do on a hot day to get some shade. But I think most of all I love that wonderful smell they pump through the place.

New York-New York

I stayed here with my friends for a weekend in 02. The room was fine. Basic but clean and had everything you need. The hotel is not as big as some of the others in Vegas, but that is a good thing. The pool is small, but pretty nice. I know they are in the middle of taking away a lot of the theme...that is what gives this place it's character.

Excalibur

I'm giving the Old Excal a 4, and this is why.....It did everything it needed to do for us, and a great price. Fri, Sat and Sun in February for about $70 per night. I had the newer Widescreen room, and even though it was nothing amazing, it was clean and was big enough for 3 guys to crash in. The location is great and it has a fun vibe to it. Not the same kind of vibe as Mandalay Bay, but you can tell they are trying to have some fun with it. We did not eat any meals there at all, or used the pool, spa or any amenities at all, so I can not rate them. But for a cheap weekend with a clean room and nice price it was great.

LuXor

I have stayed at Luxor Twice. My first time ever visiting Las Vegas, in 97, and my last time, in 04. I stayed in the Pyrmid both times. In 04 it was starting to look a little shabby and run down. I know they are in the middle of de-theming (how do you take the Egypt out of a pyrmid???) so i'm sure it will be brought back up to what it was. When it was open, the Sacred Sea Room was Amazing.

Golden Gate

I have never stayed at the Golden Gate....pretty sure I never will. But every time I make the trip to Las Vegas, I have to go here. The cheap Roulette and Black Jack can not be beat. Staggering out of the Golden Gate at 2:00 am, after playing Roulette for an hour with the same $20 is the best.
