It's Vegas Baby. My first visit was a pit stop while moving from Boston to Los Angeles. A stay at the Stardust had me hooked. Living in LA afforded me several visits per year. Starting off playing $1 Red Dog at Silver City always wanting to be a high roller. The Years passed... and so did the visits to Vegas. Stays at the Glass Pool Inn, Dunes, Excalibur, Riviera high roller dreams were getting closer. Steve Wynn opened the Mirage I fell in love. The Luxor, Mandalay Bay and Bellagio kept me coming back. Sooner than I knew it I was a rookie version of Owning Mahoney. Getting Full RF&B at the Mirage and Bellagio. An eye opening experience for me was betting 10 dimes on the Colts -1.5 against N.O.. Fortunately I won the bet, and I learned a valuable lesson. I didn't enjoy the tension that went along with betting that kind of money. I've also found that I don't like the pressure of having to gamble $200 or $300 a hand for four hours a day to earn full RF&B. It is possible to gamble at a relaxed pace and enjoy Vegas without the pressure of having to gamble. I also enjoy a good sports book with 3 or 4 figure bets and great food. Vegas has all that wrapped neatly into one great destination. Now that I'm older and live in New York City my trips have slowed to an annual visit and I look at it as more of a vacation than the action packed booze and gambling extravaganzas of my youth.
