This is a good place to stay if you are out in Vegas on a guys trip. Rooms are split such that you don't feel as if you are always getting in each others way. Location at the far end of the strip does hurt this place.
They got rid of the Big Apple Bar and put in a cookie cutter center bar. I am not to pleased with that decision. Going to the Big Apple Bar at 8 AM was a tradition for my friends and I. Rooms are getting a little dated. We stayed in a Park Avenue Deluxe room facing the Strip. No complaints with the room. The armoire takes up a lot of room. Slots were pretty loose at the time of our trip so my fiance was pleased.
I stayed here during a conference a few months after it opened in 2008. Rooms were very nice. At the time their Grazie club was only good for 3 months and then you had to re-enroll. Pretty sure that has been changed by now.
I showered and kept my luggage in one of their widescreen rooms on a trip 2 years ago. Walked through on my trip in July of 2009. I was intrigued by the dichotomy of The Pleasure Pit and the family oriented Midway under the same roof. Why Vegas tries to be family friendly is beyond me.
This place is great if your 21-25 and have no money. If you are older than that...well...your trip is either not going well or you are there to drink Guinness on the cheap. I've seen people vomit in the middle of the casino and pass out on and break the patio furniture by the bar. As someone who studied anthropology in college, this place can be fascinating.
Where do I begin. I went here to get a drink at the carousel bar. My friend and I got a Dewar's on the rocks and I guess we should have asked to hold the flies. Yep, there were flies inside the bottle. The carousel bar is on the midway level so it was fun to watch the kids wait for their mothers seats to circle around so they could get more money.
