VT reader Blackjacker1979 is staying at the newer half the property we call WYNNCORE this week and sent us super fresh photo of Encore's Atrium Lobby (between Switch and the High Limit Slots) which reveals that construction is beginning on the Switch Beach Club.

Encore Beach Club Lobby Construction

Well, wouldya look at that.... the trees are gone! For those who don't know, Encore is closing and removing the porte cochere entrance outside of these doors and turning that whole area into Strip facing party pool.

blackjacker1979 also noted that Encore has "removed curtains and palms from casino. steveness is walking around checking it out."

Did he happen to have his checkbook with him?

Speaking of which, Steveness.com is taken (boooo!) but SteveWynncore.com isn't! Gooooooo Daddy!

WTF? The trees are gone! The curtains and palms are gone also? How did adding a pool and beach club out side, involve tearing up the whole in side?

Awful.

I seem to recally Encore touting that one of the trees next to Switch was 100s of years old and cost a fortune to bring in from overseas? I sure hope they just removed them for construction and will be returned when its complete.

Wow the place has been open just barely a year and it's already getting torn up. Fantastic.
Nothing says party pool like exhaust fumes from Las Vegas Blvd. Drink up!

On my last couple trips I noticed some kind of fumes occasionally wafting into Encore's Euro pool area. Possibly from parking garage ventilation?

In any case they can just pump a load of the Wynn scent into the area and call it a day.

Parched, that really old tree is in front of the high limit slots. From what I can tell, it should be safe from this construction.

I agree, awful. I loved that entrace. I hope they didn't mess up the casino. The drapes, etc made the casino different and elegant. What was the reason. Pool area facing the strip? Who wants to see or hear the noise from the cars.

Yes! Last Jan. when I stayed at Encore I smelled like an ashtray every time I played BJ there. The curtains were holding in the smoke. So, I went to Wynn to play.
I wrote a complaint survey about this. I was told that Steve Wynn was aware of the problem and there would be a change soon.
Didn't know I had so much pull. LOL
