Forever Gonzo: Hunter S. Thompson 75th Birthday Celebration

Today, July 18th, 2012, marks the 75th birthday of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson, patron saint of VegasTripping. Or is it Patrón?

In honor of this day, we will be interrupting our regularly scheduled parade of warmed over crap to bring you some original content inspired by the writings, spirit and subversive genius that personified the good Dr. Hunter S. Thompson.

Our goal here is simple, to pay tribute to a man whose inspired us to pick up our own drums and find our own path through the Gonzo forest. If this little tribute inspires you to pick up a new HST book or watch one of the myriad films or documentaries, then we have succeeded.

Without HST, there would be no VT. We are now, and will always be, forever gonzo.

But our trip was different. It was a classic affirmation of everything right and true and decent in the national character. It was a gross, physical salute to the fantastic possibilities of life in this country-but only for those with true grit. And we were chock full of that.

This is a WONDERFUL thing you've done here......lots more to read about HST and the people he inspired is ALWAYS a pleasant mindfuck....Thanks VERY much for this!
Always had a beef with bucko about the "seeing the high water mark" of the 60s from West Vegas....I'm not 100% sure they're done peaking yet......as the old folks say, it goes to show you NEVER can tell.....bon ton roullette to the entire crew.
