We've long been wondering what the deal was with the fifth floor deck in The Quad renderings. A restaurant? A nightclub? A beergarden? A connector to the rooftop thingamahoojis being build on the roof of O'Sheas?
Well, the news is out... as it turns out this deck isn't functional. While renderings show ghost people dancing and partying on the deck (above) plans filed with Clark County state that deck will be "unoccupied" and only a part of the facade of the building.
Useful!

Translation: We're too cheap to build a functional deck.
Sort of reminds me of the non-functional ferris wheel outside of Boardwalk. But the question is...will they place creepy manequins there too?
Talking about ferris wheel, looks as though construction on the wheel across from MB is in "hold" mode. I did not see any construction equipment or materials. Just two pillars with tie-down supports.
The official line from Skyvue is that they completed the first phase and are currently constructing parts for the wheel around the world. They will resume on-sight construction in 2013. Also, they've said they are modifying their plans.
I'm sure the fact that they don't have funding to complete the wheel has nothing to do with the current lull.
Everything about "the Quad" seems like a cluster-fuck fail.
It's a race between Skyvue and SLS to see who can dupe their investors the most.
would this be their version of star trek's holodeck?
Probably for the best...I can see USA-obsessed, 20-something German guys putting taking a leak off of it on their "Epic American Road Trip" bucket list. I know it happens on (or would that be off?) the Golden Gate Bridge!
I just hope part of SkyVue's funding plan isn't selling the old Speed: The Ride for scrap...
