Thickening Plot Dept: Vegas.com Deletes Caesars Resort Fee Post

Ooooh boy, this is interesting. Vegas.com has deleted their blog post which announced that Caesars Entertainment was instituting resort fees at their Las Vegas properties.
One can only wonder what has transpired behind the scenes. Has Caesars learned from the Makers Mark debacle and decided that changing their intensely marketed "No Resort Fees" position was akin to kicking their customers in the nuts OR did Vegas.com accidentally tip information sent to its booking engine before Caesars had put the "Yes Resort Fees" marketing plan into place.
I'm thinking the latter. Caesars has killed their No Resort Fees website, killed the No Resort Fees Facebook group and apparently advertising networks to pull No Resort Fees creative marketing.
It is beginning to look a lot like the Emperor just got caught with his pants down.

Rather silly to pull it since everything on the interwebs is copied to blogs or other news posts. Or even worse they are cached http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:zgzC72HY52wJ:blog.vegas.com/las-vegas-hotels/caesars-entertainment-properties-join-the-fee-ding-frenzy-27716/+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us
Seems to me a no-brainer to stick with the No Resort Fees campaign, and probably even press it harder. Even if room rates tick up a bit, CET can fall back on being the better Strip option.
On the other hand, how many non-VT readin', average Vegas-goers give as much of a shit about resort fees as everyone here? The no-fee strategy might not be as effective as we would all expect.
There's a "no resort fees" Facebook Group? That's just sad.
^ Caesars started it as part of their "No Resort Fees" marketing campaign.
It seemed like a good idea at the time.
Seems like a case of cold feet
