VT reader DavidF is staying in one of the new rooms at Four Seasons this week and sent us a coupla photos of the forthcoming Mandalay Bay Parking Lot Beach Club Daylight day club we mentioned last week.

Give folks some asphalt, a pool of water, alcohol and music and they'll figure out how to have a good time. This is a testament to human beings. We're awesome that way. One of the best parties I ever went to was called "Morning Sickness" an annual event that took place in the first week of March on a frozen lake up near the New York / Ontario border. It got so damn cold the keg tap had to go under the floor heater of a Buick for 10 minutes every half hour to defrost.

What Morning Sickness - and Daylight - proves is that spending a coupla hundred million dollars to build a fancy pool that looks like a high end whore house might have been overkill. Invest in the DJ's and the marketing. The venue? Who cares. DAYLIGHT is about selling BUDLIGHT (in metal bottles) by the truckload.

I'm actually glad that this part of MB will funnel in all the douche bags so that Moorea can be the peaceful alternative to the dayclub scene. The main pool is fantastic but it's nice to relax at Moorea to get away from the abundance of children setting camp on the beach.
