VT reader bgrapes sent us this photo showing what appears to be blocks of Harmon Hotel's windows being removed from the exterior of the hotel.

Harmon Demolition

Harmon Hotel at CityCenter, designed by starchitect Sir Norman Foster, was declared unsafe in the middle of construction, due to improper execution of structural reinforcements by contractor Perini. It has sat unoccupied since 2009. MGM Resorts International has stated that the building will be demolished, pending the outcome of a multitude of lawsuits.

Here's our 2012 post of photos taken the inside of the shuttered building, complete with construction boxes and equipment waiting to be put to work.

Comments & Discussion:

Odds on MGM putting a drug store or a really big Starbucks there?

Well it's about time.

Saw this yesterday. They were breaking the glass out. They've got sidewalks covered and construction tarps up. Looks like it's about to get serious, finally.
