Check out this amazing video of The International Hotel & Casino under construction in 1969, as Elvis Presley signs his contract to perform at the hotel's grand opening and beyond.

Amazing!

Big thanks to Misnomer for the tip, via Ultimate Classic Rock.

Is the guy on Elvis' left Kerkorian?

That wasn't Elvis, it was Adam Lambert!

Sure doesn't look like Captain Kirk to me. Who is it?

So the two hotel executives are wearing hard hats, but not the guy who was among the world's greatest superstars at the time? Did Elvis not want to mess up his hair, or is it just that a NASCAR-level of corporate branding did not yet exist?

Still, cool video. Hard to believe the 45-year-old building still exists in a town all too happy to schedule another implosion. But it does help explain the rapid name and ownership changes of the last 10 years.

Love it! Jazzy tunes no less. But yeah, like anawas noted - no hard hat for Elvi?

It is amazing to think that the former International/Las Vegas Hilton/LVH is still kickin' off of the Strip and a mile away from Downtown. Regardless of Westgate's modifications to the hotel scheme, I hope the Superbook gets a bit of love. One of Vegas's greatest sports books.

From the construction signage was the International supposed to have multiple towers??

That does appear to be the case, but I'm guessing they opted to extend two of the three wings instead. They might have changed their mind on the additional towers after they put up that sign.

Neat little moment at 1:12 when Elvis appears to look up at an off-camera advisor and say, "It's all okay?" before signing.

iTunes has a nice 4-Disc set called "Elvis: Live in Las Vegas" that contains several of his concerts at the International.
