CityCenter Choo Choo Bellagio Station
Just got back from an overnight stay at Bellagio (as suggested by reader TIavEN in our Where should we stay? post from last week) to celebrate Admiral HHH's birthday.
While peering out the Bellagio West Wing room, I noticed a couple of interesting things that are worth mentioning sharing.
Cosmopolitan looks nearly finished, at least the exterior does.
Vdara has black stripes where the building's curve faces Bellagio's spa tower and the Cosmo, presumably to cut down on the glare blasting into the other towers? It sure looks crowded over there.
Construction on the Bellagio Station of the CityCenter Choo Choo is coming along.

If I had more time, I probably would've headed over there to see where the staircase spills out and what that scene is like. Going back to LV in three weeks and will check it out then.

How'd you like your room?
*How did.
My bad
That is an interesting observation about the banding on Vdara. Does anyone know if architects do glare/reflection analysis on their buildings? I know some people have commented on how reflective the Crystals mall panels are going to be. Would MGM have done an analysis to see if drivers' vision could be impaired by glare?
Also, the monorail station looks to be elevated pretty high up. Is it at the same level as the previous monorail?
I don't know if it's to reflect glare, maybe just some "artistic touch" or some pattern they purposely put on the building. Look at the new Palms Place tower, it's got a weird design going down one side of it to.
Like I said on Twitter yesterday, I hate to say it, but those CityCenter buildings do look pretty against that blue Vegas sky......but the whole thing still looks out of place on the strip.
Is that Babe?
it sounds pretty interesting. i am heading there before to opening of aria and willlikely be amazed at how far along things are since december. and i thought that cosmo was never going to finish. when everything is said and done the strip will look better than it did when Boardwalk was there
I read that as 'While PEEing out the Bellagio West Wing room'
